These are great bits of kit - similar to comment above, if I had a bass to put it in I'd be interested.

Are you able to reshare your photos? As they don't show up for me.
I have an issue with a broken truss rod and looking for info on replacing it (preferably with a custom one or one that's better made than the Warwicks!)
Mine snapped a few minutes after a very small turn which is very frustrating. Any idea why they stopped using removable rods?
Found the photos.
Not sure why the design change on the truss rod.
From memory, I think the truss rod end at the hell is a T section rather than a straight bar so it no longer slides in and out.

Back in the Spector group again & it feels good. This is my 2nd Ian Hill…a few years ago arthritis had a go at the base of my thumbs, it’s still there but I wear a 6” wrist band pulled down over the thumb base & it helps a good bit….worth a try if you’re in the same boat. Anyhow roll on Friday for a practice session 👍
Yeah, that's a good workaround mate. I did similar when having wrist issues, you can double the wristband over for more support too.

Good Morning,
Would you consider shipping to Spain? No

Now £5500 collected (Lancashire)

Fender Japan Jazz 1995/1996 - £699 Shipped Mainland UK.
Numerous dings and dents - please see photos.
Added string retainer - easily removable if you so wish.
E string, tuning peg the elephant ear is a little bent, still operates fine though.
Bridge swapped to a Wilkinson bridge - I do still have the original through the saddles are seized up from corrosion
A great playing and sounding Japanese jazz with plenty of original wear.

I had a 5-string version of this bass and stupidly sold it. Big regret but I now have a 5-string Euro so all is not lost. I have to say though, build quality is similar and the sound out of these is superb.
Agreed - great basses. Passive pickups in these but if you swap them out for active EMG's you are very close to a Euro.

They are OK.
Sold me a bass that was massivley mis described but we eventually came to an agreement on it.

So, who is going to own up to creating the fake OC-2 profile, claiming to be Marcus?
Having crossed swords with BD and Marcus before it's clearly legitimate-they see things as never them at fault.

Hi - Marcus here from Bass Direct, firstly a big apology to anyone who has not received first class service from any of us who work at the shop, it’s simply not good enough.
The first point i would like to make is that the old site had no stock control system on it whatsoever, and relied on me or the other guys relaying items that had sold to Mark, who at the time was the only person with any access to the website to modify/adjust etc.Secondly, in terms of any late payments, missed payments etc, me and the colleagues have nothing to do with payments or accounting, we never have done, this solely lies with Mark, who currently is on holiday and continues to be until late August (so these can be slow), all we can do as colleagues again is pass on information to him and hope things are processed as quickly as possible.
In terms of actual service in the shop and via emails, we really do try our best, it’s not easy when juggling a thousand jobs at once, especially when it comes to incorrect stock levels and general misinformation, which is something that should (mostly) be a thing of the past due to the new website with live stock levels, bare with us while we get everything completely sorted and up to date on this.
If anyone has any outstanding issues or wants to talk openly about anything regarding previous orders or current issues then please make any emails out to me and I will personally see that they are dealt with with the most urgency, failing that just drop me a private message here.
Sorry again on my behalf and I can only say I will be better from here on.
Awful shop and awful post, sharing the poor internal workings at BD and pointing the finger at Mark.
It may well be the case but sharing the info publically is poor form.
Reduces confidence for me not increase it.

I realise these are very expensive basses so they naturally have a reduced market but I thought people were gagging for Wals these days, what with the huge new price tag, enormous waiting list etc.
Surprised this is still here?
Have you had much interest / tyre kickers @bagsieblueYes, a few people keep coming back to it but no one committed yet.

I like Sleaford Mods.
Plenty of good bass lines on their stuff.

Strange that the neck is dated 1990 when it looks like an older bass (all chrome bridge + pro style neck). Does it say 1990 on the scotch tape too (photo too blurred)? And what's the serial number? Maybe assembled from older bits in 1990 - or the hardware and neck from a Pro2 or Pro2e was fitted to a new body in 1990 to make a custom (complete with the latest electronics).
Whatever the history, I'm sure it sounds good and at a much fairer price than some (all!) of the others on sale.
My own 1986 Wal custom fretless has seen some action and is not exactly showroom condition ... condition affects the sound not one jot,I love it to bits; it's the bass I'd never sell.
Yep - its a 1990 neck on an older body.
Body signed off as 1990 too, I assume to match the neck date when assembled (as the bass now is) in 1990.

I was under the impression that running a 4ohm Valve Amp into 8ohms wasn't good for them at all
Calling @agedhorse
Nope, its a minimum load not a maximum load.
What to look for in a real US stingray?
