My Kapersky is warning of the same thing today, it was NOT doing so yesterday, suggesting the problem is newer than a few days ago?

I'm surprised, as I find my 9.0 real good with the B-string? it's the main reason I'm keeping it.

I'm toying with the idea of bringing one back in my suitcase when I go the USA next year, I stay with friends over there every year, that or a Shuttle Max 9.2

Oh, I can get a good sound out of both, but I think I prefer SS out of the two. The Shuttle's bottom end is so good and deep, clear and punchy, it excells at it's deepness as opposed to the amount of bass, but I find the rest of the Shuttle's attributes a bit thin, maybe it's too clinical for me. The TTE500 on the other hand has that valve sound OK and one hell of a lot of bottom end, the valve compressor is brilliant too, it sounds very good but it's not quite the sound I'm prefering

I am considering the Shuttle Max, but it still might be a bit too clinical, so thinking of an alternative, "thats all"

Next amp on my GAS list is a Thunderfunk, idealy a TFB600B2.

At the moment I have a GB Shuttle 9.0 and a MB TTE500, both have thier good points and both are great amps, but I'm still looking for more. It's hard to pin down but better tone shaping flexibility would be one thing, this with my preferance to the Shuttles bottom end clarity led me to the Thunderfunk.

The bummer is these things have to be ordered direct from the states, so any comments on this would be welcome, even better the chance to hear one, although I'm sure that is a real long shot.

In interviews & docs etc. he proves to be a real nice guy and his playing is as good as all the hype, but like someone said above, it's the Level 42 thing I struggle with too. Whilst a handfull of thier tunes I do actually like, most of it I find triresome.

I think the guy should re-invent himself and do something different, go another direction, so long as we can hear the bass, maybe drown it out less than in Level 42?

Hey, my TTE500 don't play that well, I think I might take it back.

I might keep an eye open for a 2nd hand Max on here, and for now I might just try using the bass "active", It might get me nearer?

Update:- Just realised the rather limited dB range of the tone controls on the TTE might be part of the problem? "I might not be turning them enough?" They also seem to have an effect each other, so I got some more tweaking to do here.

Firstly I have a "MB TTE500" and a "GB Shuttle 9.0"

The TTE has that geat mid "valvey" sound and the top end is nicely controlled using the "colour" control, an LPF by any other name, but whilst the bottom end is hugely powerfull and thick, I find it a little bit muddy. (Mainly B-string stuff)

This is a hard one to explain, but whilst I like the TTE a great deal, I still prefer the ultimate bottom end sound of the Shuttle 9, it's much clearer, and has more depth of the low frequency reproduction. (bass control at mid), like it's got a lower frequency response?

A TTE/Valve amp that has the ability to reproduce the low B-String frequencies with the depth and definition of the Shuttle would be a nice one to own. Maybe, its a "you cant have it both ways mate" thing? I've tried the "GB Streamliner" BTW, did not like it, "muddy as hell" maybe its a cab/head pairing thing?

Just thinking and looking for idea's here, It's no problem keeping both, but maybe I'm missing something? The cabs I'm using are a pair of Vanderkley 112's

With regard to what was done? I think it involved cutting a tendon and scraping it away from where it attaches to the bone, had it done under a "local" too and "no" I did not watch.

Had this little number done a week or so ago, it's a little job to fix the painful tennis elbow I've had for over a year now. "and no, I do not play tennis"

It has been preventing me from bass playing for anything more than a few minutes in all this time and if I do a few numbers with my buds, the darn elbow swells up and hurts like hell for 24hrs.

So after having 3 Cortisone injections, I was offered this "Tennis Elbow Release" op. It'll get worse before it gets better "I heard mentioned", they are not kidding. Feels like it's been hit with a lump hammer - lol.

Good news is, that I played bass the other day for about 1/2hr, was tricky picking up the bass and getting the strap over my neck with just a left hand but it was do-able, I paid the price for it next day though with some extra pain.

Just thought some extra crossed fingers might help me here?
