    That neck looks like a beautiful piece of quartersawn wood. That doesn't come standard on these basses does it?

    Thats a nice BB! What makes you want to go for the BB3000A? I've had all the versions, the BB3000, the BB3000A and currently the BB3000S. Although the BB3000A is great and punchy bass I found the BB3000 and the BB3000s a little more natural and organic sounding, but that's purely personal of course..

    It's not a Shoreline, it's a Skyline Japan series. Made by ESP indeed, see here: https://espguitars.co.jp/lakland/skyline/sk-5dx/ I have owned a SK-4DX before. These are great basses, quality and build is comparable to the Lakland Skyline 44-02, it only has different pickups and electronics.

    If you like passive, why don't you use the passive switch on the bass? That will truly bypass the preamp.

    Nice bass! I do believe this is a 1972 model however. In 1975 they already had serial numbers on the back plate. <edit> just read your post that it was from before they put serial numbers on. I should learn to read first 😉

    Fantastic bass. I have an almost similar Lull P4 (the ultra vintage model), and it's hands down the best P I've touched. At least as good as Fender custom shop models, but with the added benefit of it being very light. At this price it should sell fast.

    I believe that's a Mayones bass, not a Mayonne :-) Beautiful bass though!

    I did a recent trade with Javier, and everything went very smooth. The communication was very good, shipment was very fast and the bass turned out to be exactly as described. I would definitely do business with him again in the future.
