After months of mucking about on guitar because it was more interesting, I picked up one of my basses this evening and played. It was so much more satisfying. I'll always be a bass player.

After a visit to an old friends house and playing with his rather nice collection (Fenders, Gretsch's, Jacksons and a Brian May Red Special) I ended up tempted and got an Epiphone Les Paul Trad Pro 2 and a Gothic Epiphone SG. Its fun to bang out a few AC/DC chords. Doubt it will go to performance stage though - started on bass, and an old dog only learns so many new tricks.

Does anyone know of a Wal-like LPDF filters out there which use three stacked controls rather than four (separate vol/pan)? I'm talking to Lustihand at the moment but their solution doesn't use a pan, just two volumes. I'm wondering if there are other options out there which include a pan.

Just had a wee server hiccup at BC central, nothing to worry about. A severe thrashing from Ped saw the IT gnomes working to the brink exhaustion to restore service as quickly as inhumanely possible. All hail the IT gnomes for their tireless devotion to our cause.

Is there a manufacturer who has or still makes self biasing valve bass amps? The nearest amp tech to me lives in Hong Kong...700km away.

Anyone out there able to source parts for and build a seven button footswitch? I have the schematic but wouldn't know where to begin...

One million posts in Off Topic already?! Clearly some of you have nothing better to do.

FFS, I went in for a replacement filling and after 2.5 hours came away with prep for two crowns (prepaid). I hate it when events deviate from the plan.

Dad band. Probably most of us know this situation or one similar.

The Mandelorian: It's brilliant, really brings the wider Star Wars universe to life. All those incidental characters in the movies get more air time rather than just being links between plot points.

I'm back from COVID exile...I apologise for any inconvenience my absence may have caused.
Wait...what do you mean, you 'didn't notice'..?! -
Does anyone have an old Schaller M4 (treble side) kicking around somewhere? Preferably gold but I'll take whatever is available...

I had the same issue with my alembic tuners getting a bit loose so i got some new one from Schaller and they were the large size and had to take my bass to Jaydee custom guitars to get them fitted.
I 'm not sure if i still have the old ones but i will have a look if I can find them you are welcome to the tuner for the cost of postage.
Will reply later when i get a chance to look through my spares box.

Today I discovered Marc Cerrone. One of the most influential disco drummers to have ever lived. And I'm wondering how the hell had I not heard of him before now...he's a groove beast!

PSA: This week I was informed by the MD of Schaller that they no longer produce M4 tuners to fit 12mm holes. So all of us with older basses...Jaydees, Spectors, Alembics, Pedullas...need to be careful with the tuners if we don't want to have to bore them out to 14mm for a replacement set!

If you're wilting due to a lack of access to air con in the current temperatures, get in the bath or a swimming pool. Don't get out until the sun goes down.
Where I live it was 38 yesterday, 35 inside until we put the air con on. Pet also suffer during the heat, keep them cool with plenty of water inside and out. -
Attn guitarists: My Fender Concert II is advertised for sale:

Rivera era, last of the hand wired point to point jobbies. Fabulous sounding but too loud for my needs!
