Bristol is great, I’ve gigged in a good few venues there, The Fleece, Louisiana, The Exchange, O2 Academy, and what used to be a prison (can’t remember the name tho). All were via 2 promoters, John & Ziggy. I’ve not got any more details sadly but they do punk/Oi/indie so worth doing some research.

Tried it once. My glasses are for distance so when I used contacts I couldn't see anything close up! 😖

See your optician and ask if you can have one lens for distance and one for close up stuff, I've been wearing mine like that for a good few years now, worth a try.

  3. I've got a couple of Barefaced cabs, the Four10 will outman any 'normal' 8x10 I've played through, so I'd expect the same from the Two10 versus the vast majority of manufacturers 4x10.

As mentioned, you may not notice a huge difference at normal volume, or even some people's 'loud', but if you need proper loud and low you won't be let down by Barefaced.

  4. Before I sprung for a valve head, I borrowed one off a very kind friend for a practice session, hand-built 100w, through my Barefaced Four10 at the practice, I couldn't even hear it at full beans, swapped back to my Orange Terror 500 after 3 songs. Admittedly we played silly loud at that time, so I went for a Matamp GT200 after that experience, no problem hearing that, indeed Kev (r.i.p) was even moved to say, "Ffs turn that thing down" at one session when i decided to give him some of his own medicine.

Loud is different things to different people.

  5. I've had 2 sets, 1 'Hot' jazz, and 1 standard jazz, not tried the standard ones yet but I put the hot ones in my VM jazz which had the 'Duncan Design' pickups as standard. Night and day, they sound massive, very much like the set of Wizard 'Hammers' I bought years ago for my old Tokai jazz. I got each set for around the starting bid price, well pleased so far. They'd be a bargain at the 'Buy it now' price let alone what I got them at.
