2.
I'd suggest ignoring any legal and/or financial aspect, and simply wish them luck in their new ventures, playing the 'magnanimity' card, but that's just me. I couldn't be bothered with hassles for even a modest return, let alone a small one. I understand the notion of 'principle', but wouldn't whip myself (hard...) over such matters. Move on, whistling..?
Thats pretty much the top and bottom of it - the only thing i'm bothered about really is getting an album credit, and with being left fairly in the dark about releases I wanted to cover my back more than anything.
3. Update: So it seems me, the guitarist and drummer who also performed on the 3 tracks, are being kept in the dark about the release. Being that the 'band' (now a duo) have less than 500 likes on facebook and no real fan base, I have assumed this record label is not all that it seems. I really don't think they have the facilities to re-record the tracks - as it was me who actually set up the recording sessions with a friend of mine for free as a favour, so no doubt it will be our recorded parts being released. Just setting up a PPL account now to get started - clearly something i should have done sooner!
4. I have recently left a band, of which no members have singed any band agreements or contracts. A few months previously we recorded three original tracks with the intent to release an EP, again, no contracts for the recording process were made. Now i have left the band, the singer is apparently in talks with a label of some sort to 'release' the EP - details are sketchy at best. What i'd like to know if at all possible is - do I have any ownership of my recorded bass parts on this upcoming EP? I have copies of the stems as digital files that show when the files were created etc, and also a few images of the recording sessions themselves. And in regards to any Musicians Union comments that may appear - i'm in the process of joining due to this problem, but my application will take at least another week to complete.

'do you ever offer left hand guitars...? A. Due to the fact that an important part of setting up a guitar or bass is actually playing the thing, I don't feel I can properly evaluate an instrument that I cannot play.....and I cannot play left handedly, so I'm afraid not.
From the FAQ section of the Bravewood site, sorry mate. 6. DR are a brand i've always meant to check out - but never have! Along with GHS, Thomastik, Elixir and La Bella....i've never used rounds for a while since I stuck flats on my P bass. With roundwound strings i pretty much kept to Ernie ball, but to me they sound way too zingy when new, then sort of dull down fairly quickly - I really don't care for that super bright initial 'zing' that turns everything into a slappathon, I just want something even sounding/feeling.
7. Hi, I'm currently looking for a new set of strings for my 35" scale 5 string Sadowsky (M5-24), its currently strung with Rotosound swing bass 66 strings (gauge: .40 .60 .80 .100 .125), and feel quite harsh on my fingers. The primary role of this bass is to be 'modern' sounding (the old school vibe being covered by my flatwound-strung Fender P-5), and ideally I would like a set that is the same gauge as the Lakland flats on my P bass (gauge: .45 .65 .85 .106 .128). I had originally planned on getting a set of D'addario's 'balanced tension' strings, however it seems they don't stock a 5 string set, any suggestions on sets matching my requirements? What strings do it for you? Thanks, Martyn.
8. http://www.roland.co.uk/products/productdetails.aspx?p=1000 Don't know if this is old news or not - couldn't find anything relating to it via the search function. Anyway - it seems the VB-99 has been discontinued, maybe this means there is an update or new fangled product looming on the horizon? And MAYBE, this new product launch of theirs will hold the answer: http://www.rolandconnect.com/ Thoughts?
9. I had the chance to play basschat user Dry_Stone's VJ96 a little while ago; I can echo the sentiments already spoken, they are indeed excellent basses for the money! Absolutely blows the similar squire fretless out of the water. Very light, but certainly not cheap sounding at all - the neck had a great feel, and the hardware is solid.
10. I have a Fender American Standard 5 string P-Bass - Strung with Lakland Joe Osborn flatwound strings - sounds mighty fine, never had any complaints or reasons to upgrade, and the neck and string spacing feels VERY comfortable to me. Sure, i need to play a bit lighter on the B but its still acceptable for the amount of time i spent on that string compared to the others. I also have a Sadowsky M5-24, and this serves as my modern sounding active instrument while the P is very much my 'old school' vibe bass, and i find myself using the Fender an awful lot more!
11. The Warwick Thumb SC 6 was reviewed in a recent issue of Bass Guitar Magazine (Issue 96 - October 2013). Its price was a lofty £4749, and they suggest you contact Warwick.de directly to order one. Here are links to the basses in question from the Warwick website; http://www.warwickbass.com/en/Warwick---Products--Instruments--Made-in-Germany--Warwick-Series--Thumb-SC--Thumb-SC-Broad-Neck--6-string--Pictures.html http://www.warwickbass.com/en/Warwick---Products--Instruments--Made-in-Germany--Warwick-Series--Thumb-SC--Thumb-SC--6-Saiten--Pictures.html
12. could use an octave pedal to thicken out your parts? I'm sure the EHX POG has an option to add an octave above and below at the same time.
"The soundman's not here yet so you probably won't have time for a soundcheck" (when arriving 2-3 hours before our allocated set time)

"The band before/after you haven't been able to bring their instruments. You don't mind if they use yours do you?"
These are my most common ones.
14.
It might be mental and you concentrate more and your fingers tense up a bit unintentionally.
+1 This happens to me all the time, especially when using floating thumb
15. Just sold a Hipshot D-Tuner to Paul - by far one of the smoothest transactions i've had on this site! Buy/Sell with confidence Friendly, prompt correspondence and a super speedy sale, thanks again! Martyn
16. Hi arpi, yes this is a 34" scale bass, and it weighs a little over 4kg (8.8lbs). Martyn.
17. Up for sale is my custom built 6 string bass made by Howard Satterly aka The Bass Doc It looks great, sounds great and feels great - but i now know i have no need of a 6 string. Howard (bass doc) modeled it on a stripped down jazz bass body but with the same scale length, pick-up placement etc. The idea was that it would be a 6 string bass that would sound and feel pretty close to a jazz bass. £450 - no trades. I'm based in Newcastle, and would ideally like to sell to someone local, failing that someone from the north of england who could either collect or meet half way. Any questions drop me a message Get in touch if you'd like any more information or more images
18. *NOW £1250 DELIVERED* Up for sale is my custom built Watson Fretless bass Its a fine instrument but i really don't play enough fretless stuff to warrant keeping hold of it. It's a custom bass made for me by a company called Watson, a Californian based company headed by a Scot named Alex Watson. Here is a link to their website detailing the entire construction process of my bass, along with the specs: www.watsonguitars.net/10B038C.html Here are the specs listed: Materials: Top:Spalted Maple: Core:Sycamore and Curly Maple + E. Indian Rosewood Fingerboard: Kingwood Pickups: Watson Humbuckers switchable between single coil and parallel Electronics: Audere 4-band 18v Hardware: Gold Bridge: Hipshot-A 19mm spacing Tuners: Gotoh GT-350 Options: Single Cut, Strings through Body Finish: High Gloss with custom green tint on top wood its also extremely light! Its in near mint condition, with only extremely minor wear on the fret board. With that in mind I'd be looking for a sale price of £1850. Also includes a branded 'Watson' gig bag that has excellent padding. I'm based in Newcastle, and would ideally like to deal with a buyer based in the north of england who is willing to come and either collect it, or meet me half way - however i would be able to ship the bass if needs be. I would also consider trades on a 5/6 string MTD bass of some kind - preferably the Andrew Gouche sig model! Let me know if you would like any more information/images. Thanks, Martyn
19. EMG J Set for sale, good working order. NOT the solderless design ones. £60 based in Newcastle.
20. Hipshot BT2 for sale. For use with '67-'82 USA Fender P&J basses, but also retrofits the Geddy Lee sig model and '67-'82 re-issue models. £40. Based in Newcastle.
21. Anyone else noticed these nifty looking pedals? http://www.godlyke.com/totally-wycked-audio-effects-pedals/great-divide-2-analog-synth-octaver http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAyM112F8j0 Sounds like some great effects capabilities there, but at $400 its a bit steep!
