Could be miles'tone. It's an excellent job if that was what was done.

If that BCer is around please drop me a PM I'd like to know the history of this bass.

no pics unfortunately but it looks like it wasn't this one after all as it was slimmed to a B width...unless cameltoe knows any more.

Could well be that it's a more common mod than I thought!

Congrats on a very cool bass.

“This 1-owner bass came to us via the cousin of its original owner… He played the bass locally in bands until the early 80s when he sadly passed away. Since then the bass has remained in its case with his cousin.

Blimey, how big’s the case?! Or how big’s the cousin?!

We should get a few Gs knocked off as it will probably stink of dead cousin. Maybe a couple more if we promise not to get the law involved... 🤔

I think that’s a bargain. I’ve had to have a word with myself.

The late 70s Fenders that seem like  bargains at the moment are usually the ones that weigh a ton. Well, 10+ lbs at least.

I've done a fair bit of window shopping lately!

i could never understand why musicians get rid of their CDS !

i have a wall of jazzfunk jazz latin and releated 0f about 700.

and to me each one of them not only represent a memory, but for me who is a writing musician releasing tracks

they also represent, formats, ideas, colors, textures,  what instrument sounds good with others, whats dark, whats happy

how to create tension, when droping stuff out of a mix whats gluing stuff together, bass tones, and that's even before i start on

FX, reverb types, mix styles bla bla bla.

i think each one has something special to offer.

so to me they are like a very useful library of tools and the thought of getting rid of them just to buy them again in another format seems stupid, so i keep them, some very very hard to get ones as well, yea... i like CDs 🙂

so if you getting rid of anything funkjazz related, im ya man.

its the graveyard where all funky cds get to live agan 🙂

I've been happily getting along with Spotify for years. This is the first track I haven't been able to find.

What sort of time period are we talking about and what sort of genre? Was it a song in the charts or a Jazz record etc.?

It was on a kind of a jazzy, world music compilation. Like Putumayo but not Putamayo. Bought around mid 2000s.

I'm wondering what Putumayo-like labels I used to buy...

Now regretting getting rid of most of my CDs way back!

So some already know I’ve quit playing live gigs and was selling all my gear.

Ive decided to hang on to my American PBass and SVT112AV cab and today have ordered the Ampeg Micro VR head as a neat home only rig.
The rest of my gear is sold or up for sale ( two Vintera basses ) but I felt I would miss playing at home hence the mini rig

    The correct decision!
