    Here's the story...

    Last year we bought a house on the fantastic island of Fuerteventura and have decided we should make our home there and take early retirement next year.

    So I have reluctantly let the band I play in know with plenty of notice to look for someone new to take over bass duties.
    The band are based in the East Midlands in the South Derbyshire/Burton on Trent area. We have an extensive following and some fantastic gigs in the pipeline.
    We play a mixture of covers in various styles from ska, motown & soul to disco, pop and rock n roll.
    The band consists of a very talented and amusing singer/guitarist, a female sax player/singer, bonkers keyboard player, drummer/singer and your truly.

    I am really quite sad to post this, but hopefully someone on here would be up the for it?

    So I tried dropping the pickups down (dropped both to keep the tone balanced) the neck a couple of mm proud of the scratchplate, the bridge PU slightly higher and seems to do the trick.
    I'll know better when I gig it at the weekend. The tone has changed slightly and lost a bit of punch but I can compensate for that with the EQ on my amp all being well.

    Hi,

    I love my Bongo 5HHp but find the space between the end of the neck and the neck pickup is quite small, this makes it difficult to "pop" when playing slap.
    I'm wondering if I changed the scratch plate for one from a 5H if I could move the neck pickup back a centimetre or so? Obviously this would mean routing the body and modifying the new scratch plate.

    Anyone know who sells Bongo scratch plates in the UK?
    Any thoughts on this? Is it a bonkers idea :rolleyes:

    I've used it at three rehearsals and first gig with it tonight. Blimey it's got some oomph, using with a Barefaced Midget T. The whole set up weighs 13kg.

    Not sure about the TonePrint feature, seems like a bit of a gimmick and is a bit hit and miss. Saying that some do sound good. The transfer doesn't work with my Stingray 4 but do with my Stingray 5, this is using an iPhone 6. I think you need to find two toneprints you like and stick with them, it's too risky to attempt updating between songs at a gig. Perhaps some form of effects selection control would have been a better option but it's early days with the amp and I may change my mind.

    I like the overall sound of the setup, and the tone controls are effective, the centre frequencies are spot on in my opinion.
    Not tried the PC toneprint editor as not had time but read it's not compatible.

    The only thing I'm not sure I like is the output seems a bit compressed even without a compressor toneprint selected, only really noticeable when doing a good old slap.

    I'm pleased with the amp, it is refreshing being able to carry my whole rig with one hand!

    I am selling my trusty main gigging rig due to downsizing to a smaller setup.
    It is quite a beast and comprises of:[list]

    This rig has served me well for several years but my back is not what it used to be so I'm selling it on.
    Everything is in good working condition, there is the odd scuff mark here and there and the cab cover has wear marks.
    As you can imagine, this setup sounds immense, has loads of punch and all the power you need for any gig.
    The sound is full range due to the compression driver in the cab and suits any style of playing. The amp has loads of headroom and can keep up with a drummer and two guitarists in a rock band with ease. It also has a DI out for connection to a PA system should you need more oomph.
    The compressor is in the effects loop and can be set to enhance your playing style.

    I would prefer to sell this as a complete set up rather than split it up.
    The price of this set up when new was around £1800, it is around 5 or six years old.

    Due to the size and weight you would be required to pick up and collect the rig from Swadlincote South Derbyshire.
