1. Hello to all. I contacted Sandberg about special order of 5 string short or mediım scale and the answer I got is that they can build 32.5" 5 stringer. Has anybody specially ordered or already has a 5 string short or medium scale from Sandberg? I may ask a few questions about the process. Cheers
2. I bought a bass from Brian. He is great to deal with. He was kind enough to think about the taxes and finding the solution. The bass arrived very well from a looong way and in as described condition. Very stable and sturdily packed. I am sure I will have more deals with Brian in the future. Highly recommended. Thanks again Brian. Cheers.
3. I would go for used instead of new. You can find some good models of Yamaha or Ibanez for the price of new entry level basses.
4. In production: Spector Bantam 5 MTD Kingston LK 4 and 5 MTD USA LK 4 and 5 (532) All over the price range I guess Not in production: Aria Cardinal I believe you can find in your price range.
5. MTD listed them as (MAP) $979 for 4 strings and $999 for 5 strings. I assume 5 strings won't be more than £1000 at Bass Direct. Sounds fair for what it is. Please let me know when you have chance to try and good luck with the search. Any info about when they will be in stock?
6. I can guess that they will be great if they are half as good as the US LK model. They are not listed on MTD's website either yet but they appear in the price list and they don't seem to be too expensive. US prices though.
7. I too look forward to try one of these. Bass direct listed as "coming soon" but it's been some time. I am talking about Kingston model. I have one of these and they are very good for the money. I also have US made MTD Lynn Keller Signature (532) and it is great in every way. Just too valuable for me to play at every gig so I bought the Ibanez Mezzo 5. No anxiety 😁 I think I saw a Mensinger 5 string at bass direct and I saw that Wilcock is making 32" 5 string as well as an Italian brand called Biarnel. Maruszczyk may have some too.

I am looking to trade with Fender Road Worn (3TS), Yamaha BB735A (Black), Ibanez SR2605 + cash my way but I may consider other trade or sensible cash offers. I can also add some cash so feel free to offer trade with more expensive basses.

15. Welcome Graham, it is great to see some Cypriot bass players here. I am from Cyprus too.
16. Bought an amp from Bob. It was great to deal with him. Buy/sell with confidence.

18. Just bought a bass from Andre. This is our second deal with him. The bass came very well pack like last time. Deal with confidence.
19. I used to have a compact coupled with super compact. Then sold the compact to buy another super compact. You won't lose the lowend with SC. You will rather be happier because it is less boomy and gives tighter lowend.
20. I am still using my lightweight Barefaced cabs but I have gone to heavyweight for the head. I have owned TC electronic, Carvin, and Markbass lightweight heads but I always wanted to have Eden WT and tried one last year. Now I am using Eden wt550, wt800 regularly and Ashdown Klystron heads with my lightweight cabs. Don't have any lightweight head at the moment. Only if I can find a lightweight head that can give Eden WT sound.
21. Humbuckers with 3 way -parallel/single/series- switch are very versatile. My Maruszczyk has couple of them with switches and I am very happy with it.
22.
I think it adds character, If you are not happy change it otherwise it will always bother you.
This^^
