Gmr make some incredible instruments and this is a steal for a bass of such quality. What pick-ups does this have out of curiosity? Jay

I'd imagine it has the later D-Tar pick-up but I don't know enough about when Rick stopped using the Highlanders. I'll open up the guts tonight and take a look to confirm. Jason.

Hello gents, I'm selling my Rick Turner as it simply doesn't get played enough to justify owning such a great instrument. It really does capture that warm, organic woody sound that a good upright provides. Although theres no substitute for the real thing. Anyone familiar with the Rob Allen basses should definitely check out this as having played a Mouse and Deep bass, the Turner comes very close. The condition is excellent and I'm the second owner. The original owner ordered it direct from Rick Turner in the States. The only cosmentic flaw is a small indent on the upper bout. I've included a picture below. There are some small blemishes on the underside near the jack but these really are negligible and impossible to photograph. Everything else is flawless including the fretboard. It seems that the Thomastik Acousticore strings designed for this bass aren't very abrasive. I've recently restrung this bass with a fresh set of Thomastik Jazz Flats and it's completely changed the tone of the bass; far more like an upright. The Acousticore strings are excellent too of course. This bass really responds to different strings types and benefits from experimentation. I've included the blurb and link to the spec from the Rick Turner website below. The only difference in the spec outlined on the website to this bass is the walnut body: [i]"These basses provide a rich palette of tones from realistic upright to cutting rock. They look really nice with the gold bridge. I've spent the last week playing the Overwater and it's a damn good instrument. I'll continue bumping this for another week but after that I'll just hang onto it. I've a set of Thomastik flats which I've meaning to try on a fretted for ages.

A flurry of debate I see. Rednose (Chris), I've pm'd about the offer. The prices on the marketplace of late are really plummeting down and it's just not restricted to Overwaters. The Warwick prices are scandalous! In an effort to move on an instrument, I guess people really are having to cut the price just to generate any interest. Which is why I'm really interested in just trading this with a fretless and avoiding an all out sale. Frederik, your Overwater is stunning. Just out of curioustity, what company made the control knobs? They look very nice. Jason.
