2.
You could get a 2nd hand OLP for a little bit more. It's more like the real thing as it's an authorised copy.
where from??

  3. Rotosound...
i tried a set of overwater stainless steel's after bein recomended them and they were really nice...
i want to try d'adario as i had a pack and cut the g too short when stringing them and it snapped when i tuned it :S

  4.
It's not that they are horrible, just some people can't get on with large necks. To me they feel just right.

I was really wanting a corvette, then played the streamer and just had to have it :) I think the attraction of the corvette was something to do with the price as well as the looks.
lol...i tried a corvette a few years ago at music live and really liked it...i tried the rockbass(streamer) as an option just before i bought my jazz and it was really badly set up and it put me right off em...

  5.
It is true what martthebass said. I was in exactly the same situation. As soon as you got the corvette, you will want the thumb. But they are really different beasts. I actually TBH prefer the corvette, mainly because it was so much more flexible. I wish they made Corvette NTs before the 1998 changes in neck profile. But not many basses I've played have beaten my Thumb in terms of sustain, clarity of harmonics and just fantastic playability (though the neck hangs far from your body).

But do try them out, as they aren't everybody's cup of tea.

Warwicks seem to go fairly reasonable second hand. I believe I've seen Thumb BO go for around £500. I've even seen a NT go for £600 once, that was unbelivable!
thanks...everybody is saying about baseball bat necks on em...is it the newer warwicks with the horrible neck or the older ones??

  6.
Save yourself the cash....go straight for the Thumb Bolt On :)

The Corvette's good but it's a bit like Wilma and Betty, you'd go with Betty but you'd be thinking of Wilma.....(Which 90/80's TV sitcom did that quote come from)
i really like the corvette iv been wantin one for ages...i do like the look of the thumb never played one though...
when i get round to the point of which im actually gonna buy (not any time soon) ill look at the thumb but i really do like the corvette!

    How much is the Thumb?

and not a clue bout the Wilma and Betty m8 :S

    cheers

  7. I have a MIM jazz and i am looking into buying a second bass.. i went on Thomann to have a look and i saw this :

    http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_wsb_704_bk.htm

I have recently starting really liking the look of Music man but have no where near the money to get a real one.

does anybody have any experience with this bass or just harley Benton in general...

What are your opinions on this?

    cheers!
