I recon they would be too short for the off set in and out... from the pics, looks like any strain relief is at its limits...

Thanks guys, I'm actually going with @kodiakblair 's idea and moving the neck farther away. The neck has to be put on again anyway because it's not straight.
This is turning into a bit of a lesson.

I might be far from the optimal solution from a strictly aesthetical point of view, but if possible it would certainly fix it from a functional/practical point of view: Wouldn't it be possible to remove the current bridge and install an entirely different more regular one, or even mono rail bridge piece, and that way fix the problem?
If I could find a bridge that suited the bass and covered all the holes drilled out to sink the existing bridge into the body, then yes, absolutely.

OK folks, getting the ruler out to measure string height, I used it to check what my unreliable eyesight was telling me. The bridge has been bodged on and it isn't square. Not much but the couple of mm I need.
Nothing short of major surgery can fix this one I'm afraid.

Have you tried different strings stew, I had this once and it was ok with another set
Cool. I'll try that next - thank you

So I bought a bass that won't intonate. Only on one string but it's maxed out and needs to go further. Had this on another bass and I just moved the bridge back a bit; problem solved.
This bridge is fixed into drilled holes. It ain't moving.
Is there owt I can do?

Love that black fascia. Wish mine had that finish. GLWTS

Best looking stingray I've ever seen.
Sorry to hear about your health problems and good luck with the sale.

Another Jacson Browne's song: THE FUSE. This transcription is a little long but plenty of interesting things in there. you can see as Lee plays 5ths altogether and he kind of gets the sound of a 5 string bass. there is a phrase that sounds as he was playing a fretless thanks to the slides he uses. and plenty of fills worth studying.

SCORE: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Kg-PKNc8l-hTgv4a2EPNWUdEJibg0UWg/view?usp=drive_linkI wonder if it wouldn't be more polite to start your own thread? Rather than using Tom's for your transcriptions?

Jason is a smashing bloke. Hospitable, friendly, honest, and an all round pleasure to deal with.
I am more than happy to commend him to the Basschat Massive.
Deal with absolute confidence.

Well, y'know, it could be yours.
I'm playing through it right now. It sounds as good as it looks. Better, maybe...
Ah I bet it does. However - I think two big old valve amps is plenty for me.

The thing that always let's multi-fx down for me is when you need that decent envelope filter, or synth, or whatever else the unit doesn't do well you need the individual pedal - which then needs a power supply, and a pedalboard, and before long individual pedals start to take over again!
I must say this is where the Zoom products always win over their more illustrious competitors. To my ears anyway.

It's just come at the wrong time. I'm committed to other purchases.
However if I manage some sales, things may change.

Knobs are clever as they can use different colour enclosures and only one knob colour- chrome is so out there it will go with any colour - reducing part count
Yep. Not knocking them for their utility, just not to my taste.

Joyo has some new pedals on the way. Of interest to us are the Legal Done noise gate, Narcissus chorus and specifically these two:
The R series looks extremely cool (except those shiny knobs, I must confess they cheapen the aesthetic to my eyes). But most importantly they sound pretty darned good too. I have a few of their pedals in this series and in the Ironman range and they are very, very good.

I've been excited by this too. The guitar version sounds great on all the demos I've heard

Affordaboard makes buying effects a relatively inexpensive bit of fun.
My latest dip included this little gem:
£25. Delivered. Bonkers.
I have it set to give me an always on 'thickening' with just a bit of dirt around the edges. It does get fuzzier if you want it to, and has excellent tone controls. There's no loss of bottom end anyway, but it can be enhanced rather nicely.
Pros: looks neat, sounds great, responsive controls, crazy cheap.
Cons: stupid placement of power socket, absolutely blinding led.
