  1. Beautiful bass! I have the 5-string version and absolutely adore it, love having the benefits of fanned frets without the sometimes ridiculous scale length (for me at least). Definitely agree on the locking jack, its the one aspect of the bass I don't like.
  2. So I haven't been gigging in ages so haven't had a chance, or need, to properly crank it. However I would think it would be more than enough for pub gigs.
  3. Having a big clearout of pedals to fund other purchases (sadly no trades) so thought I'd put them up on here none of them have batteries in as they've been powered off my board power supply as long as I've owned them. Available to collect (Dudley - West Midlands) or I can post within the UK using Royal Mail (tracked) for £5 on top of the cost of the pedal. If you have any questions or want to make a reasonable offer just drop me a message! Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus - condition acceptable - £35 -SOLD A really nice bass chorus I picked up 2nd hand when I first started using pedals, lord knows what the previous owner put on the back of it but it still works fine and the velcro hid it when it was on my board. Applies chorus sound to the high frequencies without altering low frequencies Effect Level, Low Filter, Rate and Depth knobs permit precise tonal shaping Dunlop GCB95 Cry Baby - condition near mint - £50 -SOLD The classic wah pedal, has seen very little use so in amazing condition still with the box and everything that was in it! Keeley D&M Drive - condition near mint - £170 A combination overdrive and boost pedal that is so incredibly versatile, going from solo boost to soft overdrive to heavy distortion if you stack them. Again in brilliant condition including the box and everything that came with it. Meris Ottobit Jr. - condition near mint - £220 - SOLD One of the most unusual pedals you will ever use, this has been kept in amazing condition and comes with the box, power supply, and everything else it came with new. To call it simply a bit crusher would be an insult it can do retro gaming console stutters, analogue synth sounds, features lo and hi-pass filters and crush sequencers. TC Electronic Shaker - condition good - £50 - SOLD A vibrato pedal that can do subtle as well as over the top, in good condition (sadly one of the feet has vanished) but comes with the box. Keeley D&M Drive controls
  4. Finally managed to downsize my mammoth Trace Elliot rig to this much more manageable (and lightweight) setup. Thanks to a ridiculous Black Friday sale the head only cost me about £740 brand new! Having had a quick play around I'm impressed so far and it can definitely do so much more than the stereotypical modern metal sound. IMG_7173.HEICIMG_7174.HEICIMG_7175.HEIC
  5. 🤣 yeah the reason its at that price was to compensate for people to pick it up!
  6. Hi, both the amp and cab are still currently available. I've just responded to your PM, currently on holiday so not able to check posts/messages that regularly.
  7. Bought my TE-AH1200, great guy, picked it up, was always clear in communication, overall an easy person to trade/buy/sell with - would recommend!
  8. Cheers for the suggestions all! Will definitely try out another brand of flats when I come to restring it... in the next... well 7 years 🤣 After playing some more on it I can say I still love the feel under my fretting hand, I've just come to terms that I need to keep rounds on at least one of my basses for the brightness, but having the options is always great.
  9. Good shout I was thinking of putting some Rotosound Pressure wounds on my 4-string when it next gets restrung. Alas not sure they will work on my 5 as it needs a very bright sound for the heavier genres I sometimes play.
  10. Haha it is a mighty rig that has served me very well over the years. Definitely don't need to turn the volume up that much!
  11. I've always wanted to do something a bit different with my telecaster bass, my other two (both Ibanez) have got more modern sounds sorted so I was looking for a more vintage sound. As such I've today strung it with some Picato stainless steel flatwounds. First impressions, having always played round wound strings, is that I love the feel! The only problem is now I really wish that I could get something brighter (for the other basses) but with the same feel without changing strings every day... Anyway, I'm hoping that these combined with the homemade mute will give me a nice Motown sound for a cover I'm going to record next week. Anyone else trying out something new with their strings? always been curious about tapewounds myself!
  12. I think that they're releasing a 37" scale fan fret BTB to satisfy that lot. Personally I've found the 35"-33" perfect for me and a lot of fun to play. I'd definitely recommend trying one if you get the chance!
  13. 🤣 it is certainly an interesting one! It's designed to be more ergonomic to play so whilst it might look odd it is a dream to play!
  14. Probably won't ever sell my Fender Modern Player Telecaster Bass for two reasons. Number one is that I genuinely think its beautiful, I absolutely love the retro look and will probably string it with flats put some sponge under the strings and have it as my Motown sound bass. Reason number two is simply that I wouldn't get much money for it 😂
  15. Very nice! Do love how each one is unique.
  16. Lately I've been listening to this fantastic album from King Crimson singer and guitarist Jakko Jakszyk - Secrets & Lies. Well worth a listen for anyone who is prog inclined!
  17. Just found this thread after a long time off the site so I thought I'd share my pair of Ibanez basses, my long serving SR600 and my much more recent EHB1505ms. Having never played a multi-scale before I was a bit apprehensive about the EHB but I adjusted almost instantly and its slight shorter scale of 35"-33" suited me perfectly!
  18. Just on the off chance anyone is interested and comments / messages me over the weekend I will be away from this evening so will respond on Monday.
  19. Ahh well that would explain it then, cheers for the info!
  20. I get what you mean they can be difficult in some settings, however I think Steve Harris of Iron Maiden uses flats and his tone really suits rock/metal which I always find weird. Although he may well just change them a lot more regularly, and I suppose tone is still in the fingers... As for me I think I'm gonna put flats on my Telecaster bass and a homemade mute to get that retro jazz/motown sound. I tried some years ago and just loved the feel of them, but for my main basses I'll stick to rounds.
