I agree. Pretty much all my basses are cheap things which i have enhanced through various electronic modifications. They all sound awesome in their own way. I could ever imagine a need to go boutique.

Id definitely do a parallel/series switch mod. Its a couple pence for a DPDT switch, a few minutes to solder, and then you have a major improvement.

One of the fellow forumites on Ebassist mentioned this place existed, so i made an account a few weeks ago, and have decided to start posting. I normally visit Harmony central bass forum; musician central bass forum; and ebassist. I occasionally buy Bass magazine, but i prefer guitar and bass. They normally have some good stuff, whereas Bass magazine focuses more on the players side of basses.

This is looking quite awesome man. I never thought of making a thunderbird headless. I am very much looking forward to the final result.
