1. Have owned this bass for 5 years. Imported it from the European distributer in Sweden and it's been used with a Ceilidgh band that I no longer play with so only light use, nothing drastic. One or two jazz spin and rested on it's side occasionaly when I forgot the stand. I make double bass (www.wmacbullfiddlescottishluthiery.com) and have set the bass up when needed. The neck has always felt great and all that ever needed done was dressing the fingerboard and a polish/oil to the surface as there was a bump the way it came. Worst of damage is the chipping to scroll which happened being sent from Sweden. Cost £3200 with bridge adjusters and selling with David Gage Copperhead Realist pickup, another £175 of pickup. Innovation slap strings fitted at the moment, happy to throw in the steel strings that were on it as well as the gig bag I've been using.
 2. Any problems with your double bass?, just throw it away and buy a completely hand tooled, beautifull new instrument from Will Mackay based way up in Caithness. Classic instruments of the future and a worthwhile investment for any serious musician.
 3.
If anybody is interested (and got a spare 40K to spend) I know of a bass by William Tarr that's looking for a new owner. Kept in good condition by Roger Dawson, it is currently residing in Stalybridge, near Manchester. The current owner is retiring due to ill health. PM me if you want details. The Major
Hi there, Sorry but I'm not buying. The reason I wanted to get in touch is that I'm a student at Newark school of violin making and in my third and final year. At the moment I'm making two 3/4 double bass to the design of a William Tarr bass. I was wondering if you have any pictures of the bass that your friend has and would be willing to send them. I'm finding it hard to get pictures of the scroll in particular. I can't offer much in return but if your interested could send pictures of my basses as they come on. Thanks.
