BTW, if you play the 5 at the same height as the 4 it will be uncomfortable. Play around with strap lengths until you find a balance. I practice at home and play cover gigs with a 6, play a 5er live with the originals band and use a 4 in the studio (mostly). I'm really comfortable switching between them. Maybe you are thinking about the differences too much? I cant really see how there can be a problem aside from a physical one which is what practice is for.
Lock away my $$?! I couldn't Ok... Cool. I'll try and play the 5 whenever I can. I don't need 5 strings but that B is handy. It's weird that its only on some songs that it feels strange.
2. Just wondering but does anyone here have trouble switching between 4, 5 and 6 strings?
3. Maybe my trouble is that I still play my 4's just as much as the 5...? My favourite bass is my $$ 4, and there's no way I can stop playing that It could be that the quality of the $$ just means that none of the other cheaper basses I own/play come close in terms of feel.
4. So, bought me a used 5-string (from the forum) a month or so ago, just to have a go with and see how I got on. It's definitely the nicest one to play of all the 5-er's I've tried over the last year or so. But it still just doesn't feel quite right (for some songs more than others), and I always find my hands wandering straight back to my 4 string. What does it mean? More practice? That maybe I should stick with 4?
5. We do 2 x 45 min sets. But that's cos we don't know any more songs to make it longer. No, really.... (We only just started gigging hehe, we're learning more stuff!)
6. Sold me an LTD B155 Good description and arrived promptly, cheers!
7. Sounds like it could be an RSI to me. I think you should get it checked by the GP. Maybe it's just tendonitis, but best to be on the safe side

19.
Hello to the basschat forum! Been browsing for a fair bit, so finally decided to join up to share my views and whatnot, and take advantage of what seems like a thriving sales section! Not to mention some of the chat in the manufacturers section has me GASing for some sparkly new gear that I can't afford So Hi...I'm Grant A breakdown of my gear list is in my sig, but I'll be upgrading my main rig soon!
Hello! Would you be the same Grant near Cardiff that I sold a hard case to last year over on UG? It had a misfits patch on, and was fitted for a jazz bass. If not, then I apologise for being random all over your thread
20. Damn that's nice. If only it were black I'd be considering it big time... Bump for a beauty
21. I have an Ashdown EB180 combo for sale. Barely used - for one gig and 3 rehearsals. Surplus to requirements and I need the space, so this must go. 180W, 12" speaker Awesome tone Pick up from Gloucester £150 - offers considered EDIT - forgot to mention that the lead has a European plug - but of course is compatible with an adapter. The original lead was misplaced unfortunately
