    Hi, Nick ! Thanks for asking, since I think many other Basschat members wonder about that. There are many knobs, and all of them have a function ( on EARTH! Just kidding, Nick, ok? ). So.... From right to left, on the bottom line, the 3 first are : main volume, piezo volume, MIDI volume. From right to left, on the upper line, the first is pick-ups balance. So, as you noticed, this piccolo bass has a big electronic system (MIDI, and piezo pick-up) and, for the "regular" pick-ups, the Alembic-style filters systems. For each pick-up, you can select the frequency you like and modify the Q width. You can check this on the pic I uploaded just for you! Don't hesitate if you have any question; have a very good day !     Hi, everybody ! I wanted to share with you guys the works of the french luthier Patrick Cosme. I'm the proud owner of several instruments he hand-crafted :-D He makes custom hand-made intruments, and has recently started a vintage design instruments serie. I had the occasion to try some of them, and man ! Patrick is not only a fantastic luthier, but also an amazing bassist, and he has an "inside view" of the making of the instrument. He made fretted, fretless, chambered body, fanned fret, piccolo, midi basses, and the "vintage" basses!!! Here are pictures of different instruments, hope you'll enjoy them !

    Hi, everybody ! I just wanted to share some pictures I made a few weeks ago, at "le salon de la lutherie de Montpellier" ( lutherie exhibition in Montpellier, France). Patrick was there with new instruments. You can imagine all the tones you can get with this bass, it is just AMAZING ! ! ! After having played these two beauties for several months, and having been stunned by their qualities, I sold my Alembic ( yes, sir!) and ordered Patrick another bass : a long scale maple fingerboard, ash body with a wenge top, headless, 4 strings, this time, ...     Hello, folks! I am selling my Alembic MK sig 5 string. No need to introduce the brand, so let me introduce this instrument! ;-) This is a Mark King signature standard, but with several options, which makes it very special! Built in 2003, it's a long scale bass; here are the woods used : Top laminate : figured walnut Back laminate : figured walnut Body wood : Mahogany Neck woods : Maple & purpleheart Fingerboard : Ebony Inlays : mother of pearl Electronics : Signature Series Machine heads : Hipshot UltraLite USA ( the original ones have been changed by the previous owner, but I have them) Custom features : Balance point omega body and mandolin frets I am selling it to get money for another instrument project. The bass has a few dings, since I have been playing it for about 250 gigs in the last 4 years. Another trouble is that the varnish is beginning to crack in the back; Guys from the Alembic forum said that this kind of problem might be because of a very quick change of temperature. I'm not an instrument collector, but I always take good care of the instrument I'm using, so I'm a little confused about it.     Hi, folks! First, hanks for your comments, that's nice of you, guys! Now, about your questions : The piccolo is tuned just like my other Kanji 6 string bass, but one octave higher : B - E - A - D - G - C About the keyboard, I used the Roland VB-99 MIDI module with the piccolo ( wich has MIDI pickups) with a kind of "fretless" sound for the intro, and a "crystal" sound for the chorus ;-) The distortion effect is the one I picked up in my Logic software, it is a preset and when I heard it, I found it niiiice! So, here is the whole thing, folks!.. If you have other questions/comments, please, help yourself!!! :-) Cheers from France Xtof
