  1. Glockenklang Blue Rock amp. 1000w @ 4 ohms. The absolute pinnacle of class D amps IMO,  and the amp that stopped all GAS for me.

I'm no longer gigging so I'm selling off my amp and cab.

Rich, clear, loud and light. Shape the tone manually with the myriad of controls, or with the excellent presets.

It does clean very, very well, and in true Glockenklang style, the bass control is usable all the way up without going wooly like most other amps.

You can also dial in the drive circuit, which is very valve sounding. From a bit of dirt just when you dig in, to full on creamy distortion.

Pickup preferred or I can post for an additional £12.

Comes in a Mackie padded bag* with Rock Wire cable and 2.5m power lead.

*There are two spots of blue tac residue inside the bag where the amp feet sit. I can't get rid I'm afraid.

  3. I went to a Q&A talk thing by John Robb at Rough Trade. He has just released a book "Art of Darkness: The history of goth"

It was great; lots of back-in-the-day goths dressing up, discussion of the music/people and reminiscing about the clubs etc. A little nugget I loved was "if you HAD to break it down to a formula, then Jim Morriston + Bowie × punk = goth"

@BigRedX I was half expecting to see you there

  4. Made in the UK by Rainger FX, this is Dr Freakenstein's Dwarf beach, a heavy gated fuzz.

Although not a bass-dedicated fuzz, it has high/low switch for frequencies. Back in my pedal crazy days, I had this blended with a Density Hulk for maximum fun.

    -Hi/low frequency switch

-Rear trim pot to go from gated fuzz to insane oscillating sci-fi bleepiness.

-Pitch set via the knob, or controlled by Igor, the foot-operated pressure pad!

  5. The mighty Panda Audio Future Impact synth.

There are 99 presets loaded at any time:

Geek level 1: Go onto the open source database and select which ones you want on your unit.

Geek level 2: Tweak each effect with the editor on the unit

Ultimate geek: Create your own perfect sounds on the software, then upload to the database for others to use.

Comes complete with midi cable to connect with your computer. Firmware update was done a few years back, so it now has tuner function.

whatever that is looks lovely. I like the way the shape of the pickup has been mirrored in the thumb rest/fretboard thing.

It's a lovely bass. The pickup has a nice thumbcrater, and I love the way the fretboard continues into a thumbrest. Makes it a very playable and beautiful bass!

  8. OK, so you've scared my guitarist friend off! Only joking, he's not going to be back in Notts in time.

I've remembered the username of other attendee, it's @emperormingus

he's bringing a selection of stuff, but I don't have details.

We're both expecting to arrive around 11

    See you tomorrow!

  9. Hi,

I'd like to come please. I don't post much on BC any more, but was co-organiser of the first Midland Bashes some years ago. I may bring my Wood&Tronics Ergon 5 string and Glockenklang Blue Rock head/BF Super Twin cab.

Also I know of at least one and maybe two others coming. One I can't remember his username but he says he's bringing some gear. The possible is my guitarist mate who liked the sound of the day.

  10. Latvia, being part of the EU, is also subject to distance selling regulations.

"In the EU you have the right to return purchases made online or through other types of distance selling, such as by phone, mail order or from a door-to-door salesperson, within 14 days for a full refund. You can do so for any reason – even if you simply changed your mind."

This won't apply if it's a custom bass ie, made just for you, and the seller must be in the EU.
