  1. Another great SW Bass Bash! Wonderful way to spend a sunday.

Highlights for me were @fiatcoupe432's fretless Pedulla (what a bass) & the silver grey thing with the piccolo strings (mad), @sprocketflup's NS upright & his SEI fretless, @stewblack's short scale Reverend Dubking(?), @stevie's new LFSys cabs (look utterly superb, top professional build quality & a sound to match), @yorks5stringer's Nordstrand Acinonyx (what an array of sounds from the one bass), @Woodinblack's Shuker (thing of beauty), @Phil Starr's 6" cab build (ridiculously amazing sound from the tiniest of boxes), @Jabba_the_gut's super micro builds (very short 5er with side leds was ace), the always scrumptious scran & catching up with all you guys & gals again.

Well done to Scrumpy Mike, Mrs Scrumpy & the Scrumpalettes catering team, Graham on the door & raffle, for organising it all & thanks to all the basschatters who came from near & far (getting further every year). Brilliant.

I use one for rehearsals and two for small/medium pub gigs

I reduce the low and low mid eq a smidge and power them with a TC BH550

Given the simplicity and the size, this design really does pack a punch

Pre recorded music through them sounds really good too. Amazing, given how simple the crossover circuit is!

I'd recommend anyone to have a go! Its very satisfying when you hear your own creation come to life 😊

I'm thinking of same, 1 for rehearsals & 2 for small gigs. Big gigs already covered by Trace v4 & Barefaced vintage 2x15!

Quite fancy getting a small valve amp, something Ampeg or "little bastard" from Ashdown?

With all the days left in the year to wake up with a migraine it would have to be on the bass bash... Sorry chaps, I need dark and quiet today, all the opposite of a bass bash... 😔 Hope you all have a great event!

    HI Paulo,

you were missed mate! Hope you have recovered?

I wanted to have a good go on your Helix to see what the fuss is about?

    Cheers,

    Norm.

  4. Thanks to Scrumpymike, Mrs Scrump & the Scrumpettes for another great Bass Bash!

Nice to see all you familiar faces too!

I'm all socialled out. Played some cool stuff today.

Highlights were lunch (of course) then the bass highlights were Pinball's shortscale Supro Huntingdon & G&L (with beast mode toggle switch!!!!)

Rich's Sire 5er (very nice feel). Yorks5stringer's Warwick Star bass (lovely). Woody's Shuker Uberhorn (Ooerr missus etc) & mind blown by his Chapman stick (still boggled). Stewblack's Hofner Beatle bass (never tried one before, was pleasantly surprised).

Jabba's really cute Telecaster short scale build & Stub's Fender Flea jazz bass (very noice).

    See you next year!
