  1. I've never so much as held a Sandberg much less played one. They look superb, in general, though I disliked the oval Delano pickups they sometimes used purely on aesthetic grounds.

I need to try one out sometime,

Looks like a great bass, congrats on your purchase. :)

    Absolutely no reason why not.
You'll likely need to fit a new nut, otherwise the strings will not sit nicely in the larger slots.

I've found I'm not keen on C strings on larger frets though

Agreed on all points. One of my fives is strung with a high C and, just to make life a little easier for you (and in case you didn't already know) Warwick make string sets with a high C and, so far as I'm aware, are the only made-up sets available. Happy to be proved wrong. I get mine here:

  3. ACG all the way.

Hand built custom jobs and all of these are WELL within budget.

Fabulous basses with great preamps. I have ten of them so I should know. I'd simply not buy another bass from another manaufacturer ever again.

  4. 12stringbassist and I must be two of only a handful of UK bassists who own a 2002 Ric 4003 BlueBoy. They didn't make many of these at all and very few made it to the UK [they were a limited edition apparently "not for sale in the USA" and mainly marketed in Japan]. I loved my Ric but I very rarely use it these days - I haven't gigged it in over six years - I'll probably just hold on to it until about 2025 and hope that it'll contribute towards my pension (I'm already 52, sadly).

Elitist? I wouldn't say so but they ARE a bit special.

    Here's mine...

  5. Kev, your playing always astonishes me. In many respects it's quite minimalist, always just enough and no more, but every note is utterly relevant. And I love angular repetative motifs - Reversal pushes a lot of buttons for me.

And the EAD sounds great, btw.

  6. I've had a 2x12 for quite a while now. I'm in a hurry and spotted the thread so just two quick observations.

    Bombproof construction.
    Incredible sounds.

Best cab I've ever owned. I've used it on it's own which was ace and also used it running off a 2 ohm amp in conjunction with a SWR Triad. Loud, much? Verily. That sounded superb but the idea of replacing the SWR with another EAD makes me quiver at the trossochs.

    Can't recommend them highly enough.

Cool we ll wait for it
    [/quote]

Might have to wait a little longer as I've been super-busy at home and work and had no real time to myself. I've a gig coming up in 3 weeks time and intend to use the J-Type then. Hopefully, I'll have found the time for a review beforehand but if not then it'll be after the gig.

Can you feel the love Scoop? :)
We'll, finally, be moving on the 31st, so anytime after that would be great :yarr:

Your love is only right and proper, what with me being the exceptional [and modest] person I am. But videos? Loaning out basses so others can make videos? Pffft! 'Taint natural, mate.
