  1. Very interesting bass. I own one of these since last year.

Super duper ergonomics. Body shape, neck profile. It's really easy to handle.

The feel of the open Wenge is just great. I love these open, grainy woods.

The curved Bartos provide an even, balanced response.

The tone has a distinct midrange, lot's of character to work with. There's a bit of roaring grit and nastiness to it.

  2. Here's mine.
Pimped with Bassculture pickus, I then removed the active electronics.

The story, many years ago in a small German bassists community a member offered it for a ridiciously low price. Links to sound files proofed it souds great.

No one jumped on it, it just sat there.

Finally I couldn't hold back and wrote "ok, send it over."

Came out: great tool, distict, articulate, midrangy tone with great rhythmic clarity. My drummer loves it and in case I'm gonna sell it, he opts to buy it first in order it doesn't get lost.

These are f***ing amazing basses though!! Mr Sheehan and Mr Yamaha know how to make a bass 😉👌🏻 if it doesn't already look sexy, the sound is unbelievable.

Yes. Although I like to mention that the DiMarzio P is awfully microphonic. You can hear each tipp on it's cover. Not useful.

I went through several P-pickups whereof I liked the Aguilar the most.

Finally decided for this Lace combination for unusualness.

I’ve always wanted to try a Maurad Marc , I happened upon this one on Reverb and the seller was only 30mins drive away !

One of these days, in a positive way.

If you see one don’t hesitate ( just a killer bass ) as most Leduc’s are!

    Definitely.

  5. Don't confuse similar with same.

Wood is a way too inconsistent material to achieve constant results.

Luthiers go to great lengths with selecting and storing and selecting and controling and selecting again in favor to achieve the desired result.

Companies live with a broader variety.

A 5-string is a different animal than a 4-string. They are not the same instrument. They just share brand and product name.
