3.
The Tort guard is all I'd do to it. If you love the sound, there's not much point in changing the bridge. Are you going to use the thumb rest or is it going to just get in the way, Marcus? Rich.
i think thats all ill do actually, and maybe the bridge pickup cover??? definately not the thumbrest as it would get in the way for slap thanks marcus
4. beautiful series 1 you have there dave, did you know that the eq knobs on my dads are also wood?? marcus
5. thanks squire5: the bridge is actually the original so i dont think its any different from a fender part, could be wrong though... im still needing ideas people, so far i know im going to get a tort scratchplate and the thumbrest... keep the ideas coming' marcus
6. brilliant album to play along to mate definately, i think its better to play along to than thriller as well... check out the brothers johnson album 'winners' i love it... marcus

10. i know i just want to be myself i dont want to sound like anyone else, influences sure thats why i play jaydees cus i love the early mark king sound, but as far as playing is concerned i want to develop in a different way to be honest, take influences from random people ranging from the likes of mark king, clarke, miller to people like mccartney and adam clayton weird eh??? lol, hows ebasses doing nick??? love them at the nec spesh that one with gold strings marcus
11. brill replies so far guys keep it up, lets get a proper monster thread going ... heres a few pics: my beautiful jaydee roadie2 active 1981 cherry red finish my dads series 1'classic' cherry red not sure on the year but its around 1996? beautiful bass though has the proper control knobs in ebony and the yellowed binding aroun the neck/head and the rollerbass nut, i think this inspired the bendwell design(for all the status lovers out there), mark kings original starchild bass, when it was new before it had the tremolo arm fitted, looks great , i love the series 1 shape, would be interesting to see if anyone had anymore pics of series 4 jadyee's?? thanks marcus
12. time to show of all the lovely jaydees that are out there, i will get some pics of mine/my dads up later tonight so come on get posting cant wait to see some lovely basses as you can tell im a jaydee nut thanks marcus

15. cool ive never been to one, ill have to pop over whenever its on im sure someone will tell me when 'about my cool jazz bass'... so you like it then?? thanks marcus
16. its okay mate... im not really a big fan of status basses to be honest, but i prefer the look of headed ones, hey each to their own... but i like that old series 2 you have, maybe if i go to one of the bassbashes you could bring it along and i could bring my squier and my jaydee??? i think the streamline is a good bass as it serves a purpose its light and easy to carry how much are these streamlines??? thanks marcus
17. omg nick you joker...lol i am as good as you if not better haha i dont think its a case of whos best or anything, just about having fun i dont think i have as many basses as nick but just as many as i need well............ thanks any interest in me?
18. the bass is actually quite well played, the body end of the neck has got some 'slap' chops in it as has the front pickup, but i think it just adds to the look ,,, doesnt really show up that well on photo...
19. thanks for the advice steve i think what im going to do is get a thumbrest, tortoise plate, gotoh 201 bridge so i can fit the cover as well, thanks again steve i didnt know this was the case... ill leave the neck and decal as they play nice, and i might even fit a different nut .... thanks outtoplayjazz stilll looking at the pics of your old series 2 status love it(shiny)! , what do you think to mark kings new bass??? thanks guys for the advice so far, keep it coming...
20.
So you can sand off “Squire” and put on “Fender”? I wouldn’t bother mate, the bass looks nice as it is so I wouldn’t potentially ruin the finish by doing something like that. As you said, it’s all about playability so the badge shouldn’t matter. As for mods, the first I’d be looking to get would be a BadAss bridge if I were you Tortoise shell pickguards also look the nuts on ‘burst Jazz basses, but I see you’re already on that one
hi ben, i was thinking about getting a badass2 bridge, being a massive miller fan too but ive heard they dont fit under the bridge cover...true??? i will defo get a tortoise shell scratchplate and the thumbrest but im still in between getting a badass bridge or a bridge cover opinions?? also a maple neck with dots or blocks??? opniions?? thanks
21. its a 2002 squier jazz bass 20th anniversary and i absollutely play it, for some reason it plays better than any other jazz ive played, and ive played the custom shop ones, the fmt active ones, mexican, american but they were all in shops and i nevr get on with basses in shops...lol the action always seems to high.... what do ya think??? im also looking for some parts for this bass, i would like a bridge cover,, neckplate head decal thumbrest tortoise shell pickguard, any offers??? thanks marcus

23. im so happy, i brought two new pots today, a soldering iron, solder, a new set of 40-100 strings and lemon oil... and got to work. i firstly drew the old wiring diagram , and then took the old pots off, cleaned the chrome plate, and bolted the new pots into position, then soldered all the wires back on, then cleaned the frets with brasso, lemon oil on the fingerboard and fast fret bringing the fretboard up like new, the i used turtle wax to polish the striped down neck and body before assembling all the parts back on, including tuners, scratchplate e.t.c. i then put on the strings and tuned it in, i have to admit i am so proud of the work i have done, its the first major job i have done on my basses and when i plugged it in and i worked i was over the moon . i will try and get some pics up soon thanks for all the advice and stuff marcus
24. out to play jazz: I spose you didnt buy one because your now used to having headless, graphite basses...im a similar person i would stop myself from buying a status for that very reason, thanks for the comment though mate, nice basses you have too i prefer the older style status' espescially headed... stingrayfan: thanks for the comment about the jaydees mate, your right about the early tapes album my dads bass sound exactly the same, funny for a bass that was made like 18 years after mark's thanks everyone so far for the comments keep em coming marcus
