Here's a bit of a mystery for the bass connoisseurs out there: from this image, can anybody figure out the brand of this bass? A colleague is trying to find the answer and I've been struggling! Initially thought it could be a Schecter of some description, but that doesn't appear to be right. A long shot, I know, but thought I'd ask on the off-chance. Thanks

Yeah, the logo doesn’t look right either Mick. @JimJammSpaceMan is there a shot of the body shape?

After 15 years of buying and selling stuff online I’ve finally had one go a bit wrong on me. My learning- the ethos of how you act on basschat as a good seller isn’t the same on other music forums

Well, that's a first for me: being offered money NOT to play a gig!
-
Yes @Rich, they're a great bunch of lads with a good reputation. To be honest, I was quite chuffed that they asked me in the first place. They must have been really desperate 🤣

Several months ago I was offered a dep gig as the bands bass player was away on tour. The set is quite unfamiliar to me and involved quite a lot of work on my part charting songs. My policy of never turning down a gig meant I obviously said yes and I started doing my homework. Yesterday, a month from the gig date, I received a call informing me that their regular bass player had his tour cancelled and would I mind if he did the gig after all - oh and can we pay you if you’re happy not to do it 🤷♂️. I refused the money obviously.

And another amplug bites the dust, honestly even for the relatively modest price they go for the build quality is shocking, another case of £5 build quality on a £40 device

Outdoor gig today... I'm gonna fry 😰
But hey, it's a gig 😃

I have accepted an offer from a friend to play in his karaoke band. I have to learn like 40 songs for tonight...

You are clearly a stranger to the ‘I hate gigging’ thread then 😂.
I’ve forced myself in recent years to do these sort of gigs and they are really quite something. Lately I’ve done a couple of gigs where although I was given the set in advance, there were no rehearsals. I look at the sets and think, there are quite a few of these songs that have been recorded by various artists and there are also different versions of some of them by the same artists. Then I start listening to the songs and about half of them fade out in their original recorded versions. Then I resign myself to finding out how they go on the night. Keeps you on your toes. Good luck 🤘

Just made a list of all the basses I’ve owned - 20 over 28 years. That’s OK, isn’t it? 😎

@cetera - show 'em how it's done.

And again Royal mail have failed to deliver, didn't even leave a card, the website says they tried to deliver this morning but no card, no knock at the door (have been in all day), someone's telling porkies.
Just wanted a cheap harness to try out series/parallel but at this rate I might just end up hard wiring the bass in series
-
Your explanation seems reliant on a) the shipment having the right address on it and/or b) Royal Mail calling at the correct address in an attempt to deliver it. Either way, it doesn't sound like they have lost the package. I use Royal Mail a lot and I very rarely have any issues. Hope you get it sorted.

Why do my private messages to another member get posted on the sodding updates? How frikken rude...

Just weighed my Harley Benton JB40FL. 10.6 lbs!! Now I may have set up the weigher thing wrong but if not... Great bass, good sound, amazing value - and virtually unusable for a crumbly like me cos of weight.

Just had some update pictures on my latest Overwater come through 😍 Not gonna share them yet though!

Paul Carrack gig halted half way through tonight. Hope he gets better soon. Gutted as we were really enjoying it.

Colour co-ordinated my signature and avatar.
Guess I need to get out more often.

Very uncomfortable at the use of Status Updates to congratulate people on learning how to use Status Updates.

TOP TIP:
If you're going to jump off the front of the stage to dance with the audience during your last song, make sure you don't misjudge the height of the stage and end up flat on your àrse. It's not a good look and is quite embarrassing. Errm, so I'm told.

Given that the year is of sentimental meaning to him, do I tell my Managing Director that the 1972 Precision he thinks he has, has actually got a 74 neck and 73 pots?🙄

3-point bridges - why in God's name.....just why???
