  1. Past hour
  2. Ooft. If I didn’t already own one… beautiful
  3. I played a white 5 string belonging to waynesworld on here the other day. Outstanding! Felt and played top drawer, the action was really low and super playable with no fretting out etc. Didn't have time to plug it in but a five is definitely on my radar now. Super basses if the one I played is anything to go by.
  4. They sure get overplayed on the likes of Heart, Smooth and Absolute. Back in the day it was kinda heretical to profess a dislike of the Eurythmics. As well as There Must Be...equally turnoffable IMO are Sweet Dreams, Who's That Girl, Right By Your side and Thorn In My Side. ABBA i don't mind. Can't think of any of their songs have me booting the radio out through the window
  5. Explains how a lot of people end up in those seats.
  6. Bought a Sup n Up mini version 5***** what more do you need. Painless transaction Thanks Chris
  7. So this is the true evil of AI revealed. We can't just discuss a magazine any more, we now have to discuss if it's AI generated or not. 🤦‍♂️
  8. Great condition, Velcro on the bottom. Price includes UK shipping. Thanks Dan
  9. Ideally yes but then also the unintended cyberpunk aesthetic of the routing showing through as well.
  10. I found the same with my CIJ Mustang, I was surprised as it was the same weight as my Mikey Way that is well balanced. Ended up selling as it irritated on long sets even with a good strap. Pity, it was a comp stripe and they’re going for silly cash now.
  11. I absolutely agree. Which is why I highlighted the shows which I felt were the exception to this. Not one track that didn't interest or entertain. No unnecessary childish yak, just informed or amusing links from which I learned about stuff beyond just the artist name. I simply wanted to share them with like minded people
  12. Surprisingly for the usually rabid YT comment section, very little is mentioned in there about the pot guts replacement, and none of them being all "HOW VERY DARE YOU". Someone asked about not doing anything about the tuners and the video poster replied saying there was no rust on them, so I guess their focus was on removing rust, not polishing things that didn't have rust on them. In the end, it's not my video, not my bass, so I enjoyed the video for what it is and I really don't care beyond that. As I already mentioned, I don't deal in old Fenders (as I find them overpriced for what they are and the people who are bang into it are even more pernickety than me, and that's some impressive effort). I find this whole "pots must be 100% original" thing bemusing. If the old pots are toast, what value do they have in the context of the bass being a functioning bass? None, right? They're just pots, boring but very necessary things that do wear out over time. Can someone help me understand this slavish adherence to originality, because I just don't get it. A classic car isn't worth less because it doesn't have its original brake shoes/pads, is it? Let's go bigger - what if it had its gearbox rebuilt and some new(er) parts were used in that rebuild - is the car worth less then? I'd argue that it's worth more - newer parts == more life therefore more valuable. Tell me I'm wrong, tell me I'm being an idiot and just don't get it, but if you're going to do that, can you at least tell me why?
  13. After doing some reading around the subject and looking into posts on Talk Bass, it seems that the issue I'm having with my Elf is that I'm just playing too hard and making the amp overheat, as it only really becomes an issue when I go hard playing with a pick, and in particular when I'm using my P-bass which has a much hotter output from the ceramic pickup than my Sire with Alnico pickups does. So it looks like the Elf will be relegated to a backup and rehearsal amp only, which is a shame as it sounds great.

What's that you say? Just play softer? What kind of madness is that?

  14. TC Classic 450 Bass Amp in good tidy condition 4 band EQ Tubetone Spectracomp with TC Helicon bag All knobs are intact! Has served me well but fancy a change £225 collected from Oakham LE15 6NP
  15. Now updated to a straight sale! The recent acquisition of another shortie has meant one had to go and due to band ‘visuals’ this one has been selected. It’s with a heavy heart but she who must be obeyed has to be considered. Not really interested in trades unless it’s a Mikey Way Jazz bass. If there’s any interest I’ll send decent pics but you all know what these look like, it’s in the same road worn condition as I received it and it’s been well looked after by me. Currently fitted with EB 50-105 Hybrid Slinkies and only light use on these. Will also be supplied with the original fitment Fender Flats if wanted. Only got the original Fender gig bag with this (great condition) so it’s collection or close meet up in Sheffield/Rotherham area only.
  16. Great condition, Velcro on the bottom. Price includes UK shipping. Thanks Dan
  17. This is something I've been complaining about ever since the Zoom MS-100BT which only had an iOS app. Zoom are ignoring the majority of smartphones and tablets.
  18. I didn’t see the edit button for some reason, but price reduced to 300 gbp, cheers
  19. I had one of those in Daphne Blue. Really good quality and one I wish I'd kept hold of. I paid £800 for it 2 years ago and sold it for the same price about a year later.
  20. Great condition, Velcro on the bottom. Price includes UK shipping. Thanks Dan
  21. I ordered an amp last month. Wasn't in stock, said due 28th April on Website. On placing the order, I had an email saying it wouldn't be available until 28th April, and I'd be updated if that changes. Had an email on Monday saying it's now expected 30th April. So can't fault their comms so far. Will update this thread with any more important news as it happens...
