Sick Love - Red Hot Chili Peppers

I got it from gear4music. Didn’t expect much on the weight because my previous bb435 was a bit hefty. But when I got it today, when I lifted the box, it felt empty. When I held the bass, it was surprisingly light! might have to have the frets rounded. A bit edgy for my taste, I’ve gotten used to my Dingwall SP.

The Sovereign Pro 8-225 is the version of the 8-225 used in the Basschat 8" cabinet. It is a bit heavier than the non-pro version. It also has a flatter response. Ideal for use in the 8" cab if you need less treble. It has never been used, except to try it in an existing cabinet. Unfortunately, it did not fit. Will be sent in the original packing. You can compare the two speakers HERE.

This is a Fane Sovereign Pro 8-225. The cast aluminium version of the Fane Sovereign 8-225 used in the Easy 8" Cab Build Thread. It is slightly heavier and has a flatter response than the non-pro version. I bought this to fit into an old 8" PA cabinet, but it was a little too deep. It has had virtually no use. The foam was use when I was trying to fit the driver into my old cabinet. I will include a new strip of foam. The original 8-225 was selected, as its upper response makes up for the lack of a tweeter. However, if you prefer a flatter softer sound, this is the driver for you. Pro 8-225 Datasheet

I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁

£50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

Def check out Blackstar, I’ve played through their larger bass rigs and found them to be very good. But at around 50watts Ampeg, Ashdown, Fender, Orange will all be decent enough.

I tried one at Andy B's years back, nothing to write home about. It felt like my first attempt luithering. Just my opinion with one single example mind you.

Vocal Microphones, what are you using?
Chienmortbb replied to Phil Starr's topic in PA set up and use
I use the Sontronics SOLO, a super cardioid and I find it useful to be able to move away sideways in case I start singing when I shouldn't. - Today

I’ve tried the lower powered rumbles in music shops across the land - they are all disappointing! I I’ve heard the 100w+ the rumbles sound ok, but I have no personal experience of them.

That’s the thing - I have memories of several early years of thrashing some awful underpowered bass practice amp and wondering why it didn’t sound like the thunderous bass on the records I loved! Good call on the Eden stuff. There's a Roland Bass Cube on here for sale too but it’s far away from me. Wasn’t sure what people thought of Fender Rumbles? My own practice amp is a knackered old Orange Crush which farts out almost immediately and has been relegated to the garage, so it’s not much to go on.

@NancyJohnson of this Parish, and joint-patron of the South East bass bash, had a splendid little Eden amp for sale. I tried it out at the event and was impressed - the only reason that I didn't buy it was because I use headphones at home, and because it struggled with the low B on my 5 string. * However, if you are looking for recommendations for someone who has a four-string, then the Eden range impressed me. * that's two reasons.

Akai E2 Headrush delay/looper - Price drop - £70 posted
iamtheelvy replied to iamtheelvy's topic in Effects For Sale
Remarkable lack of interest on this classic on both here and the ‘bay. Great delay tones, but one of the most intuitive (if limited in length) looper out there, as used by KT Tunstall and Steve Lawson (and I believe the E1 version on Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood’s pedalboard). Not getting enough use here though, so need to shift it on! -
I had a very stressful Rememberance Day service on Sunday, but it was good. The band debuted a song, written by myself and the band leader well over a year ago, which expresses my thoughts and hopes for Ukraine. It wasn't written for church, it's a band song and it builds in a very specific way. We spent a fair chunk of the rehearsal on themat one on getting the phrasing right, changing the arrangement and so on so it was as good as it could be gievn that the band had never heard it. To add to the pressure, the minister, who really liked it when we played it to him months ago and wanted to include it at Rememberance, had scheduled it immediately before the 2 minutes silence. I expected it at the end after the colours had paraded out, not as a critical element. Thankfully it went very well, and we had a lot of positive comments. The band leader's guitar lead was crackly right at the start, but was OK after that. YT sound mangles the arrangement a little and doesn't capture the bass at all (it starts with a heartbeat on the low B) but it's not bad. See what you think.
