  1. Past hour
  2. Hi Everyone Selling this great little tuner. It’s in great condition and price includes postage. many thanks
  3. Good to see you her, Mark. I think we could open the thread up to including both the Low Down books as well.
  4. Bit of a thread ressurection, but we are restarting the Midlands Bass Bash next year. About 125 miles for you.
  5. I once had one of these. The best colour combination MM ever did IMO
  6. Yep that’s what happens with originals. In our early days in Knock Off we got on some strange bills, and sometimes there was just stunned silence at our set.
  7. Sad to report this is a highly elaborate scam. Forwarded the post to my friend Pete (post above mine) who then forwarded his friend’s details to the listing’s poster. Clearly used ChatGPT to talk about string height, Paul Chambers etc. Arranged a viewing but asked for a deposit to hold off another potential buyer, and then went awol when the funds were sent. Alerting moderators now as well.
  8. The Grafts are superb! fwiw my 'frostbite' finished Graft 5 has such strong sounding pickups - the bridge pickup tone is one of the very best I've ever had for that midrange percussive honk/burp/whatever you want to call it 😍
  9. Its odd but whenever i used to see a band no matter what style of music it was i always applauded at the end of each song unless the band were absolutely diabolic and making lots of serious mistakes but i don't recall that ever happening. I'm happy to see any band play especially if it looks like they are enjoying it themselves. I'd be that one guy in the audience that's clapping. Dave
  10. My youngest son (15) just overheard me playing ‘funky mellowship in B major’ by RHCP and commented “well, you’re better than Homer Simpson”. I’ll take that.
  11. You can try playing 1 6 2 5 on your own, see how it sounds. Maybe 2 5 1 would sound better if the guitarist isn't joining in. Most keys players should know what you are doing, but even something that simple can flummox a lot of guitarists. . . . and a lot wouldn't even notice you weren't playing the usual 5 4 1 turnaround.
  12. This bow was made to order and is a lovely bow, wonderful crafted stick made of pernambuco, bow stamped GB Bows and is nickel silver mounted. Beautifully light weight at 126 grams light nimble and articulate and is very similar in characteristics to light weight bazin bows I have played in the past. The bow has a truly fantastic curve much and allows for fantastic articulation at the tip and tension in the hair however the stick is not ‘whippy’, This stick is incredibly agile and makes playing string crossings in Mozart a doddle and has great clarity and articulation if used for solo playing. This bow really works across the range of demands of a modern bass player at incredible value. Ideal for any bass player but particularly appealing to those at the start of their careers. Fresh new hair. Chosen, tested and made to specification for a UK professional valued at £350-£450 by glen titmus, however open to offers.
  13. I think I may have played this bass when picking up one of my ACGs from Alan. There was also a lovely green Graft Plus 5 string there that day as well. Fantastic looking Graft you have - I think this colour is called Purgatory iirc
  14. Great pedals, I love mine, still sits in front of my Quad Cortex because the compression is so good
  15. Just reviving this necro-thread for a luvverly off-topic one: Mum: "John, soon you're gonna have a little brother, and you'll be his big brother!" John: "I dont want a little brother! I want a big brother!" Mum: "I understand, dear, but the baby can never be bigger than you." John: "We can abort him! From Africa!"

  21. 1999 Musicman Stingray 3 EQ H in Translucent Teal. Amazing sounding SR4, just doesn’t get played much because of my Sabre. A few war wound nicks/chips from giging, nothing major. Comes with original MM hardcase. £1300 including UK Shipping. Bass in Glasgow if anyone wants to try it out first. Cheers
  22. I have a great app on my phone called Chordbot Lite. You can program chord progressions in and then play along. I'm sure there are other apps and PC programs but this is incredibly simple and intuitive to use.
  23. Yeah, we’re pretty lucky most of the time, playing original heavy rock to audiences who often don’t know the songs, we go down pretty well a lot of the time. However sometimes it just doesn’t click, and on a wet Tuesday night the folks that came to see what was on just didn’t seem to be into us. Cest la vie! The band before us went down pretty well, playing kind of indie rock, and they were great, but our 80s style heavy rock just didn’t do it for them. All part of the fun, and I’ll take indifference over hostility every time! lol, because we’ve had both down the years! Thankfully the days of having stuff thrown are long gone! 😆
