  2. I Can’t Stand The Rain - Tina Turner
  3. Not for me, I’ve got plenty… but for my bass sound. I play in an Americana/blues/gospel band. Bass, drums, guitar, sax, singer with harmonica. There are a couple of songs we’re working up where the guitarist is playing trumpet. (No, not Ring of Fire!) When he does, the body of the band sound tends to drop out. The sax can cover some, but I wonder if I could fill out a little more of the space. I play a P-Bass with LaBella flats through Little Mark and Barefaced, and I don’t want to meddle with the basic sound. I currently use no pedals – I try to avoid any complexity and adding stuff that increases the chance of some kind of systems failure. But is there a pedal than can ‘flesh the sound out a little’? Only a little mind you – I’ve tried a couple of fuzz pedals and hated them. But if there was something that gave a little more grit and body, that might be useful. Any thoughts from the collective? I know very little about pedals so be gentle with me… Cheers, Graham
  4. That was a fairly conventional set of mods when I was younger.
  5. Agreed Mick, Whilst the SMX series added some useful bells and whistles such as compression and a blendable valve/solid state preamp, the Series 6 has a certain immediate clarity with clout never bettered by Trace Elliot.
  6. This is already a bargain - I paid £165 for mine second-hand and was glad to find one at that price.
  7. Not really playing this so up for sale again 👍
  8. Courier is an option for the head. Tradewise I'm always interested in Fenders of one sort or another 👍
  9. Well, I didn't use all capitals at least. I'm sure Sapko is a nice guy if you met him. I just can't be bothered with clickbait internet personality crap, so I don't watch it.
  10. Thanks for all the advice chaps. There is so much choice out there and no shops around where I live to try things out so I guess I'll just watch other bands that come past and see if there is a tone I like and maybe bite the bullet. For the time being I wont be adding a second cab. Thanks once again
  11. ...he says shouting on the internet 🙂 !!!
  12. So important to do the things you want to do together - I have the reverse situation, I am 67, other half is 55. She is going to get out this year, we have things to do I just describe myself as a 'man of leisure' although I have had plenty of work from when I made myself redundant and took early retirement.
  13. High Fade-tastic! 😎
  14. MXR Synth. It’s all I have bought this year. 😂 but was well worth the money.
  15. Price Drop To £300
  16. Anything expected from Santa that's accidentally arrived early and turned out to be great?
  17. Little end of year Dec bump, to see if we can get to discover a few more of our BC'er bands!
  18. Open to offers also and to p/x with cash my way also SG Bass, Mustangs are of interest Thanks Dave
  19. The shape has a suggestion of an upright bass, so I wonder whether there's an endpin included so it can be played vertically?
  20. I strongly consider covering Wolfpack with Syd Barrett, one of my absolute favorite songs, but is quite difficult to get right as it has a very free flowing structure. I ponder on playing along with bass to the original tune, of course only record my own bass, and then record the vocals after. Just 2 tracks, tenor bass, and vocals, which doesn't exactly make it any easier to do it justice. I am quite likely not to be one of the first to post my contribution, as is otherwise custom. I basically never did any serious covers before.
  21. For everyone moaning about who is on it, I dont think anyone could say Hook's style is distinctive. I grew up listening to New Order and loved them right up until I saw them support the Chili Peppers in Dublin in 2002. They were awful. Snidey and couldn't give a toss. I couldn't listen to them after that. Melissa Auf Der Maur has her autobiography coming out next year so her publicist got her on the show no doubt. I always liked her solo stuff and although she hasn't done much musically since then having not been invited back to the Smashing Pumpkins as they've hired Peter Hook's son, I'd still be intrigued to watch. As for Nate Mendel, with 3 guitars in the Foo Fighters, who cares what the bass does? Exactly, nobody. Plus, they haven't released decent material for quite some time. Ultimately, nobody is going to have their taste catered for by such a generic programme. Besides, quite a lot of the people who you might want to hear from on such a programme are long since dead sadly.
  22. U OK hun?

  24. I found very similar with a search for "i-pace" in the Electric Vehicles thread.
