Decent player, puts an interesting twist on bass guitaring. Never seen any of his longer form things but for a wee laugh and a bit of bass content on my lunch break, i quite enjoy his stuff.

Re: Peter Hook; no-one mentioned his stance. He says it has done his neck no favours in later life. He stood out by playing his bass so low on the strap. Considering Mark King's bass slung at nipple height, it made for quite a contrast at the time. Also, did I see him with a six string Shergold Marathon or was that someone else? -

I like him and prefer him to the bass players online who take themselves very seriously, he makes me laugh. I think he is right about AI, and deserves credit for his comments. He did a kind of video collaboration recently with Wings of Pegasus (who I also like) which was cool. I can't comment on his playing other than that he is WAY better than me, lol.... I probably shouldn't have piped up because I also like Davie504, videos of Rico eating things and this 'Rotate your Owl for Science' video so I am clearly a dumbass, I think the internet has destroyed my brainz

Vox Humana / ESP bass Nice PJ bass from 1987, made in the Netherlands by Vox Humana using ESP parts. Back in the day they had some kind of collaboration going on where they made instruments partly themselves and offered ESP necks and hardware from the catalogue to complete the instrument to buyers wishes. This bass has a handmade mahogany body with flamed maple top, hardware and neck from ESP Japan. The pickups are older EMGs, and the preamp is recently updated to a new EMG BQC system. The old preamp (don’t know the brand, the board is covered in tape) is included, but needs rewiring. The mini toggle is not in use currently. As you can see the bass has a lot of damages and usermarks. Nothing structural though. The bass plays easily, and the neck (profile feels in between P/J) feels great. The frets show some wear, but nothing problematic. The truss rod works but doesn’t turn very smoothly. The bass weighs 4,56kg on my kitchen scales. Fixed price €700 No hardcase or other extras are included. I've got a decent case available ar extra costs though. I am located in the Netherlands, but happy to ship at buyers risk if needed. -

That's the point I'm trying to make in a round-about way; there's a slew of bass players now who are famous for being influencers on YouTube, not playing on recordings that you hear on the radio or doing gigs ect. They may or may not make recordings and do gigs, but if they do then not with successful bands or artists that most folks have heard of or enjoy. Some of them are very good players, some of them are pretty average players but good at YouTube. Jaco Pastorius burst onto the world stage just short of fifty years ago because of his playing with Pat Metheny, Joni Mitchell, Weather Report and as a solo artist on his self-titled debut. That's some entrance. Contrast that with today. There's high profile bass influencers who have their own signature basses from high-end manufacturers, their own signature strings, merchandise ect. They've never played on a hit record, been in a successful band or done very much except having a social media profile. It's a lot easier to wow fourteen year old kids watching YouTube than it is to impress Joe Zawinul, let me put it to you that way.

The Nanoweb coated Nickel Elixirs are the ones I mainly use. I change them once a year, usually after 30-40 two hour live shows. Also, the 40-95 set are really comfortable to play, very bendable, but still with good string tension and no loss of tone.

Is he buying this himself or are you purchasing it for him? If it's the former just get him to buy a Fishman of his own, problem sorted. Seeing as you already have PA and monitoring an amp is a bit pointless IMO. If funds won't stretch to a Fishman then this might work, still has a notch filter for mid set feedback busting and is only £36 with the BLACKFRI20 code. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315171151745 Does have a 10 megaohm impedance but no mid freq and a single treble control, you can dial out piezo quack and harsh high end at the desk though.
