I guess it could've been difficult to include Cozy without some of the circumstances surrounding his tragic premature death? -

Having just picked up something up I’ve been after for a while something should probably go, so 1st up is this Rumour, (I have a stingray advertised too) first of all it has some lacquer cracks (only in the lacquer) I’ve contacted Bow finishing who did a lot of Bernie’s finishing and he said it’s not uncommon and any easy fix, it’s just never bothered me, otherwise is in great condition, gorgeous quilted maple, hardly any fret wear, GB hard case and a custom made ebony ramp, no trades I’m afraid, will post

Try a few. I find some hex wrenches can vary a bit, especially the no name/budget ones you buy as a set. I bought a decent set (Wera) and find they fit well.

This weekend I’ve been learning Hills And Valleys by Buju Banton , played well here by Frank Negrao , still working on the changes around 1.95

Any material will have a dead spot as it has a resonant frequency, for wood it's really audible around the D2 and it's upper harmonics, and if you add more mass to the headstock you'll move it between two notes, that's the idea. Carbon or composite designed instruments are the less prone to audible dead spot: There will be one as it's inevitable, but it will be at very high frequencies.

Chris bought a pickup from me. Smooth and easy transaction, thanks buddy

Out of interest, have you signed up to the course(s), or just using the YouTube channel? I often pop into the YouTube channel for Jazz Piano tips. Like you say, some great resources.

From the same gig. Cilla Black performing Lennon and McCartney's 'It's For You'. Easy read, easy play but a great tune. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/its-for-you-cilla-black/

Last night we played in Heath Charnock between Bolton and Chorley. A brilliant landlady and nice crowd. One of the punters gave us a £30 tip and the landlady did too. We gave this song a second outing. Played for the first time on Friday...

I am interested in trying Payson flats on my Dingwall 5. Standard tuning. Can anyone help me with the sort of tension and feel they have? Are they super high tension? Thanks.

Do we think about Rhythm enough?

About 80% of what I play -
Just to set expectations.... the beginner parts are simple and I'll be involved in three pieces on the gig. And it's much harder than learning the sax, which I started in my early 50s

Personal nostalgia - I did a gig with an Essex singer called Helen Abbey that featured some great tunes including Lulu's 'To Sir With Love' from the Sidney Poitier film of the same name. The track has been credited to several bass players but my instinct says Bob Lang. Don't hit me with a 1,000 'no, it was....' posts because, 'Frankly, my dear. I don't give a damn'. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/to-sir-with-love-theme-song-lulu/

So, I watched the 1st episode (I think there are a couple more?). It was from Hooky's perspective, which was someone who started in the mid-70s and thought punk was great musicianship. Love Will Tear Us Apart is of it's time; if only Jumpin' Jack Flash hadn't stolen the bass line. -

CPC Farnell? V https://cpc.farnell.com/c/splitters/iec-splitters Studiospares used to be good for this sort of stuff before the takeover, they used to do a sort of IEC daisy chain thing. Terralec are good for leads but nothing very useful listed there as far as I could see at the moment.

Sometimes notes that “dont fit” with a key signature work really well, but a note played out of time never works.
