Richard R started following Proud dad! Two bass players in the house

I thoroughly enjoyed that, I left it playing on repeat while decorating. Indie pop isn't my genre really, but as others have said, had an 80s feel, and could almost have been Blondie in a couple of places. There were some neat turns of phrase in the lyrics, particularly in the latter songs on the album. There's some talent developing there Available through Bandcamp, which is how I've bought the CD. https://tulparockband.bandcamp.com/album/monster-of-the-week

Out of phase - Need help - Passive EMG (GZR/MMHZ)

Hey Martin, Tried flipping the pins, but I'm getting a hum and overall scratchy/distorted sound. But it seemed like the out of phase sound was gone, when blended with bridge pickup - so something was right hehe. I have borrowed a soldering iron from a friend, but have never used it in my life. Guess I need to give it a shot. Any quick tips on that? I can logically understand that when desoldering those wire I should avoid that solder dripping on the pot, etc. Thank you so much! -

I'll kick it off after Christmas.

A DMM sure tells something about the batteries. True battery testers usually have some kind of load which gives better understanding of the capacity.

Origin Effects BassRig Ampeg B15 Fliptop recreation
spyder replied to Quatschmacher's topic in Effects
Yes. I've used it for 2 rehearsals, one Church gig and one Pub gig. With another pub gig tomorrow evening. On all occasions it preformed as expected, a warm vintage sound that just sits in the mix so well. My iem mix and playing feel sounds like I'm using a 'real' amp. It's a definite keeper and I've sold off all my other preamp pedals because the BR15 is all I need. Highly recommended. 🎶🎶🎶🎶 -

I've just watched the first episode. Not a massive PH fan, but enjoyed all the contributions. Definitely worth watching because it covers all styles, not just PH. -

I doubt very much that there will be a plethora of bass-related TV shows coming up in the new year so, personally, I'm glad to grab any that happen to come along. Clearly, you feel differently and, as I expressed in my last post, each to their own. -

The place we use in Perth has a vintage, Fender Bassman head through, I think, a Fender 6x10. Sounds good, no? Well, in all honesty, it’s just about OK, certainly nothing to get excited about. The space is actually the live room for adjacent studio, control room and not particularly large (but not small or cramped). Back there next Wednesday to shake out the dust and try 5 new songs for a gig, later in the month.

The one I go to each room has an Ashdown Mag 500 amp and Ashdown 8x10 cab. Each room we normally rehearse in is about 4m square.

First thing you could try is to flip both of these connectors upside down: If that doesn't do it, flip them back to where they were when you started. It looks like you really need to swap the black and white wires that go from the P pickup to the blend pot, but from your question I'm guessing that soldering is not an option? One possible solution would be to cut those two wires and use a small terminal block to reconnect them the other way round - white to black, and black to white: -

What's "incurious" about not wanting to watch a TV show about bass that's NOT aimed at all bass players regardless of how often I choose to frequent Basschat? I know my musical tastes. -
A useful single channel line level isolating transformer for removing hum loops from PA, Mixer etc in a very solid metal case Input on either XLR or 6.3mm Jack - balanced or unbalanced Balanced output on XLR or 6.3mm Jack Switches for ground lift and phase reverse. The third switch provides either unity 1:1 or a 2:1 ratio tap for long cable runs There is a small circuit diagram on the top to remind you what all the connectors and switches do! Quoted frequency range is 20Hz to 25kHz at line level Dimensions 120 x 44 x 90 mm
