I'm with you mate, the old saying (think it was Lily Tomlin) "The problem with the rat race is that even if you win it you're still a rat" seems relevant? The whole space seems to be full of adults acting like children when sweets are being handed out at a party, trying to shout "Me, me, me" louder than all the other kids, the whole thing pretty much an absence of style over an absence of substance. If I've got time to kill I play music or listen to recordings of people who play music 👍

I think Danny Sapko is a very decent bass player, and his YT content is okay too. I agree with him quite often. I like his irreverent attitude and Yorkshire sense of humour. How he got voted Bass Player Of The Year is beyond me but I'm old fashioned and think that such awards are for people who make records and do gigs ect. Good for Danny, anyway. You get what you pay for though, and the internet is mainly free so don't be surprised if you have to sift through lots and lots of rubbish to get to the nuggets of gold. Once these guys start doing YT for a living they have to churn out content whether it's worth putting out or not just to have an income. That's usually when things start to go awry. I don't blame Danny or anyone else for giving it a go though; you see so many dismal options when it comes to employment nowadays that I know I would prefer being on YouTube talking about something I love than on a zero hours contract at Spud U Like. Were it not for the restrictions placed on me by my haemorrhoids (and the terms of my probation) I would have probably started my own Only Fans channel before now. I hope that one day Danny's channel is successful enough that he gets to live out the ultimate fantasy for most people from Bradford, i.e to get enough money to move to Leeds. He will need to learn how to dress himself first, though.

I play in several trios and when the guitarist drops out the sound dips. . . . but that's supposed to happen. It's the dynamics of the performance. IMO filling all the gaps isn't the best way to arrange a song.

For someone who can't be bothered with clickbait internet personality crap you seem to be getting very get up over it 😏 @SimonK The answer to your original question seems to be A) he's OK B) I quite like him C) I despise him with every fibre of my mortal being. Which seems to me is most opinions on the internet these days.

Bought a CD from me In an instantly satisfying transaction. Recommended!

Didn't get a helpful reply. They told me to contact a UK supplier but i bought a set of various size metric ones and its an M3 diameter and only about 4mm long if that helps. Failing that and you still haven't managed to get one send me your details and i'll pop one in the post to you as i now have a few spares. Dave

Not really my thing but he seems like a decent sort. What little I have watched he has a marmite kind of humour that I find amusing. Not sure about the claims that he’s not much of a bass player. He’s exactly the kind of bass player I like.

I Can’t Stand The Rain - Tina Turner

Not for me, I’ve got plenty… but for my bass sound. I play in an Americana/blues/gospel band. Bass, drums, guitar, sax, singer with harmonica. There are a couple of songs we’re working up where the guitarist is playing trumpet. (No, not Ring of Fire!) When he does, the body of the band sound tends to drop out. The sax can cover some, but I wonder if I could fill out a little more of the space. I play a P-Bass with LaBella flats through Little Mark and Barefaced, and I don’t want to meddle with the basic sound. I currently use no pedals – I try to avoid any complexity and adding stuff that increases the chance of some kind of systems failure. But is there a pedal than can ‘flesh the sound out a little’? Only a little mind you – I’ve tried a couple of fuzz pedals and hated them. But if there was something that gave a little more grit and body, that might be useful. Any thoughts from the collective? I know very little about pedals so be gentle with me… Cheers, Graham

That was a fairly conventional set of mods when I was younger. -

Well, I didn't use all capitals at least. I'm sure Sapko is a nice guy if you met him. I just can't be bothered with clickbait internet personality crap, so I don't watch it.

Adding another cab to my rig suggestions please
BassYerbouti replied to BassYerbouti's topic in Amps and Cabs
Thanks for all the advice chaps. There is so much choice out there and no shops around where I live to try things out so I guess I'll just watch other bands that come past and see if there is a tone I like and maybe bite the bullet. For the time being I wont be adding a second cab. Thanks once again
