  5. I play them with a pick, brings out the SC/flats tone beautifully
  6. I had an early Fender Custom Shop John English 51 P bass , beautiful to look at , but my thumb kept slipping off the single coil pick up . If money was no object , a 57 / 58 P Bass would be my choice .
  7. Anyone have a reliable and cost effective supplier of pin badges please? Or are they not a thing any more?🤔
  8. I've seen a similar finish problem repaired. The lifting paint had glue put under it and a vacuum table was used to press the paint back into place.
  9. Another incidence of appalling self-harm, the complete Dave Holland performance of the tune 'The Balance' from the 1998 Quintet album, 'Points Of View'. All 11 pages..... https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/the-balance-dave-holland-quintet/

  12. Very well put together US-published book of in-depth interviews with guitarists based on a TV documentary. Refreshingly, not all are the usual suspects. Rarely seen here. 300 pages, very good condition. £13 posted UK. Now just £10
  13. That collection is absolutely perfect. Except for perhaps a flatwound Precision, I wouldn't add or get rid of a single bass there. Lovely.
  14. New and sealed Saving Grace CD and LP from the inimitable Mr Plant and pals. CD £10 posted LP £20 posted Together £25 posted. Keep one, give one as a Christmas present!
  15. Today
  16. I don’t suppose you fancy a swap for a DFAM?!
  17. Despite years of piano lessons and messing about on synths, I still don't want to play basslines on them - for some reason it just doesn't scratch the itch in the same way as playing them on bass guitar. Can never shake the feeling I'm pressing sprung switches, I don't feel the same connection. The FI VIP gives me that playing satisfaction, it's just more fun.
  18. The SC Precisions are an acquired taste but one that I've acquired, pickguard has to be off though
  19. I'm rained out of work today so it's going to be the big pedal board into the Ashdown CTM-300 very shortly Neighbours prepare yourselves
  20. Popped into Lidl on the way home from work and they had two left. I've been after these for ages, so I bought both of them!
  21. these are available in NZ but I'd like to try before buy maybe a Xmas present also are these pedals made in China but Warm Audio is a USA company?
  22. Sick Love - Red Hot Chili Peppers
  23. I got it from gear4music. Didn’t expect much on the weight because my previous bb435 was a bit hefty. But when I got it today, when I lifted the box, it felt empty. When I held the bass, it was surprisingly light! might have to have the frets rounded. A bit edgy for my taste, I’ve gotten used to my Dingwall SP.
