Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!

This sounds pretty funky! Do you happen to have a schematic for the circuit? I'd like to breadboard this one out. -
Rare outing as a 4-piece last night, as one of our guitarists is taking some time away to savour the constant wailing of his new baby. We were supporting another local band's album launch and a decent number of people turned up, which is always nice. Very warm on stage, and as the headliners got rain-soaked during load-in the whole venue was at rainforest-level humidity. Still, I thought we played well and there were some nice comments from random people afterwards. First time out with my latest stage bass (a white RB Streamer 5 LX to match the black one I already had) and I'm really pleased with it - it looks/feels/sounds just right. Thickened up the bass tone a little with just a hint of octave-up to suggest more guitar than we actually had, and from what I could tell it seemed to work acceptably. For the tech-inclined: RB Streamer 5 LX -> G30 Wireless -> TU-3 Tuner -> Thumpinator HPF -> BC-1X Comp -> VT Bass v2 OD -> Sub-n-Up Oct -> BDDI v2 Pre (-> FoH) -> Markbass Nano 2 -> Blackstar 115

Cowbell! Of our five-piece cowbell section the soloists alway get in a ringing war with eachother. Unbearable!

String Height Tool for Bass
rainbowreality replied to rainbowreality's topic in Repairs and Technical
That's so obvious when you explain it! I'm going to try it, thank you! -
I'm wary of Ampeg now after having had two of their more recent heads that have crapped out on me on gigs (an SVT-7 and a PF-800). Love the sound, hate the patchy reliability. I've heard good things about the tone of the Venture series, but I'm still not prepared to drop a big chunk of money on one. Once bitten and so on. I might be more enthusiastic if they had a replacement for the SVT-7 with a proper valve preamp, rather than the emulation circuit that's in the Ventures.

Back to the forum after a long while, I give you my current minimalist pedalboard after refurbishing the board itself with new Velcro and stuff, and putting the ever-faulty Polish Love and Polish Hate aside. Very doomy, but can also go quite funky, but that envelope filter will be replaced because it annoys me.

Maybe 'guitarbuilding' are basing(!) the Not For Bass on the basis that Guitar are ballpark 2 / 1.5mm and a Bass ballpark 2.5 / 2mm... But, i likes @Hellzero simplicity, and savings as well as suiting all radii... Saddle screws M3 have a 'pitch' of 0.5mm, so half a turn extra per string saddle would add 0.25 of a mm in height.

My other amp is a Handbox R400. Now I need to do a parallel test of the TT 800 Boogie Channel against the R400. Any thoughts out there?

For me, one of the very best female singers the UK has ever produced! Love her!

You can do the same as this with an Allen wrench of 1.5mm (or whatever reference string height you use). Simply put the Allen wrench under the highest pitched (G or C) string of your bass and raise or lower the saddle until the action is at the desired height. Repeat this for all other strings and set the intonation. And then simply add a fourth of turn to each of the two height saddle screws on the next lower string, then half turn for the next one, then 3/4th of turn on the following one, then a full turn for the other and a full and a fourth turn for the B if you own a sixer bass: This will make exactly the same as this radius gauge at a deliriously low cost... I've been setting up all my basses this way since more than 3 decades. Adding 1/4th turn more than the previous ones simply perfectly raises the height according to the exact radius of your instrument's neck.

Note: this is not the compact bass pedal - admittedly I bought in haste! Having said that, this thing works brilliantly - some bass players even seem to prefer it, from the scientific research (Googling) I have since done! Anyways, my bass OCD won’t allow me to keep it, so here it is. Oh, and just for the record, I bought the Bass Compact, gigged with it last night and it sounds exactly the bloomin’ same….. Pickup Bournemouth would be great - happy to pack/post to the UK for a fiver.
