It’s probably too new. Most of the deal might be free psu or brand carry bag type things.

Chatgpt has just recommended Lenspeed logistics as a courier to potentially transport my Ricky if I sell it. Having just had DHL destroy a one off custom guitar, I was looking for a better service than the usual suspects and wondered if anybody had any experience of this company and a rough price for a £3k bass transported within the UK fully insured.

All you can do is the obvious - play it slowly with a metronome and then build up speed. As I said before, I play it with hammer-ons live, I can't play fast enough to pick every note! If you have to play it with a band, just play the pentatonics - no one will know the difference! I played it this way when a band got me up at a gig a few months ago. A mate in the audience who plays in a very well known band, came up to me afterwards to say how great I sounded - obviously, I didn't tell him that I had played the 'cheat' version! 😉 Next ones to learn are 'Ramble On' and 'Good Times Bad Times', both of which are a pretty decent workout for any bass player!

Hi all, Here we have my 2022 Musicman Stingray Special in Amethyst Sparkle finish. Bought in July last year as I'd always wanted one, but a new car is on the horizon, this is being sold to go towards the deposit. It's a 2022 model, in Amethyst Sparkle, Gold hardware & Roasted Maple neck. Rosewood fingerboard with 22 Stainless steel frets. 18v electronics with 3-band active preamp. Neodymium pickup. Weight is a lovely 3.8kg. Condition I'd put at 8.5/10. The body is unmarked. A small nick on the headstock and a very small patch of light pitting on the control plate are the only marks of any kind. The nut has a slight chip on the side of it, but it doesn't affect the actual operation of it. The string sits snugly with no-issue/movement. Currently has DiMarzio Strap lock system in place, although is reversible if not your thing. Not looking for any trades or offers. Will not post something of this value due to issues in the past, however, as always, I will pretty much travel anywhere aside from the outer extremities of the UK for a handover/meetup. Slade was our opener for our final set and did the job of getting them on the floor. It was the only Xmas song we played though as we just gave them a segued onslaught of dancing tunes to keep them on the floor. Most of our Xmassy songs are done tongue in cheek and they were not really the sort of crowd for that. Tonight should be better suited.

The DM610 is a large bookshelf/standmount speaker from renowned hi-fi brand B&W, featuring a well-braced 30-litre sealed cabinet with 8-inch mid-bass driver. The larger driver and extra cabinet space create a much better low end range than from most similar speakers. This model allows for either bi-wiring or bi-amplification. These speakers present clean tight bass response, surprisingly clear mids for such a large driver and the pleasant highs that the well-designed B&W tweeter at that time was famous for. They can be driven quite loud, enough for the physical effect of the bass to be felt without audible distortion or a sense of sound compression. Both speakers are in Very Good condition, especially for their vintage. All-original, complete with full grilles (one of which has a small hole, shown in the final photo). Only £125. Well, a CQ20b is on its way to me having popped up at a very decent price, complete with case. Entering the digital age! So I need something like an iPad to run it. Anyone got any recommendations or advice? Main concern is long term reliability and stability. I might explore using it for other music things but I don't want to splash another grand on an iPad pro especially if the bog standard one looks to have a good lifespan

I agree, for some reason us bassists - and drummers to a certain extent - seem to end up with the “can’t you just use that and make life easy” situations. In times like these a Sansamp or equivalent is our friend, might not be a great onstage sound through whatever pony rig we end up with but at least out front get a decent one. -
Fender blacktop jazz bass. Only played a few times, excellent condition. Includes original fender hard case. Made in Mexico, 2013 model. Champagne/pearl colour. I have swapped the pick guard for the purple tortoise shell. Original black pick guard comes with sale. A few of the pick guard screws have some rust on. All specs can be seen in the last few pictures. Sad to get rid of it but I am no longer the bassist in a band so have little use for it. Sounds incredible, the dual split coil pick ups give an amazing tone. Any questions feel free to ask.-

I’m trying to learn Jolene and “the other bit of the chain”. I tried the latter on a “wing it basis” and “smashed it” according to the OM hostess but I didn’t get it right enough for my satisfaction (root notes and the occasional slide” was my winging it attempt)

I'd certainly advise against moving the bridge off it's F hole notches. That's the instruments datumn line (it'll change the balance, bowing geometry, top pressure interaction with the post and bass bar) Fitting a nut to reduce scale is relatively common on old English and large German instruments (it's called in the trade as "an English Nut"), it's quick and not an expensive job. Many early 3 string basses had huge 44" / 45" string scales, an English nut was often fitted to bring it back to 42" standard. Looks a bit weird and you'll have to recalibrate not to miss half position. But it's the better of the two options. Myself, I'm happy switching between a D neck and an Eb neck. Back when many basses were being made there was no such thing as a "standard" neck. Luthiers just made basses with whatever wood was available.

We do a Sweet version of "Let It Snow" in the first set and then Mud, Slade and Wizard in 2nd set with Wizard being last song of the set altho our encore is a lengthened version of Shang a Lang including excerpts from various Scottish themed songs. Bit of a Medoly and it always goes down a treat up here. Dave

Yes, I've done two Christmas party gigs so far and we've had no requests for festive songs. We played four on Friday (Wizzard, Mariah Carey, Bruce's 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' and Shakin' Stevens) and they were the least well received. We played none last night and they weren't missed.

Selling my Tele bass, in all used it for no more than 10 minutes after buying it. Its in mint condition cannot see a mark on it, has all protective plastic on pick guard and tuners still attached, comes with original gig bag and the bag candy too. Purchased to try and trigger a push back into playing again earlier in the year but it didn't hit the spot for me, just didn't get on with the slab body.
