  3. A pair of high quality speaker cables, manufactured by OBBM. Neutrik connectors and Klotz LY240T cable. Each one is just over 1 metre in length. £30 £25 collected. Happy to post if required, probably an additional £5-£7.

  4. Hungry Like The Wolf - Duran Duran
  5. I don't know who originally made it but I've had it a couple of years and added a Thunderbird neck. It's had a Rickenbacker 5 string pickup, so will need re-routing for another shape. Has a KiOgan wiring loom and the cavities have copper conductive tape. Paint job - not good - Halfords finest put on too quickly and not sanded down. Top is finished with a vinyl wrap (which doesn't hide the paint inconsistencies underneath). Great if you want that 'Rat' look.

  6. Don't overthink it. I left a band because people who knew my situation were too immature to recognise how it was affecting me mentally, even when I told them to cut me some slack. If you are not aware of things going on in his life that are preventing him from picking up the phone you can't temper your response accordingly. If he has always been rubbish with comms, that may be why A wants to get rid of him. If it's a new new thing then it probably needs a chat, or he will walk anyway.
  7. I am a fan of the Boss Katana Go. A huge variety of excellent tones from the built in amp models and effects, and bluetooth connectivity means you can play along to songs from your phone wire-free. It can also act as a digital interface to a computer. It's a more expensive option but the sound quality and convenience make it worthwhile for me.
  8. Truly magnificent and rare in this finish!
  9. Lovely bass, if i had the bunsen I'd jump on this (not literally!).
  10. I would imagine it suffers more from the constant need for affirmation.
  11. Hunger Strike - Temple of the Dog

  13. Makes sense. Maybe they pointed to MM, as it has colored wires and would be easier to identify. As P has two black, two whites. Not sure, and they didn't elaborate. But I'm happy as long as it is working now Here she is, finally, in all her glory!
  14. Keith McMillen KMI 12 Step and MIDI Expander This is the original KMI 12 Step Controller. It can be used as a set of bass pedals, to trigger chords, samples or even drum sounds. I’ve used it with a variety of synth modules for adding strings and organ for live gigs. I’m now playing more keyboards live so I’ve gone back to my Hammond bass pedals. There is software online to hook it up to a computer or iPad but I’ve always used it with hardware and it has done the job really well. I’ve colour coded the ins and outs with tape but can remove if required I’ve also taped the note names on the unit as I found it easier to see live. I used masking tape so it’s easy to remove without much residue to clean. KMI has now been rebranded as Muse Kinetics since Keith McMillen sadly died last year. Support is still available for all the KMI branded versions of their products. It’s really small and neat compared to a traditional bass pedal controller and weighs next to nothing. The unit itself is slim and made from woven carbon fibre. I have the original (tatty) packaging for both the pedals and the expander. I’ve included a link so you can see what it does. The Mark 2 version retails at around £435 street. The included MIDI expander was bought separately for £65 as I wanted to integrate it with my outboard hardware rather than use it with my computer. Postage at buyer’s cost UK only. No trades.
  15. They look like a set of geezer gzr
  16. Just bought a number of books from Mickeybro. Was an easy and smooth transaction and they arrived quickly. Thanks Stuart
  17. I have just bought this one, for a great price, used: Should have it by the end of this week.

  19. Some more photos of this lovely little U-bass, which I can't believe hasn't sold!
  20. A Columbus Jazz was the first bass I ever played. A workmate owned it, and let me play it for a short while. This was before I had ever even thought about playing bass. (I had the loan of an awful Jedson guitar at the time). I had pondered picking one of these up - just because they're inexpensive, and for a trip down memory lane.... This is indeed a really nice restoration job 😀 GLWTS
  21. First of all I think it's probably the room causing a particular problem. I think we've all experienced that and I share that opinion. However I'm seriously worried about your hearing. I use a single modest Celestion 10" cab quite frequently as on-stage monitoring and it's plenty for my needs, it does have a horn too though which helps articulation. Those four Celestions will knock out 130db which is easily enough to damage your hearing and that Crown amp is no weakling either. I would seriously consider in-ears, you might not like them but being so hard of hearing that you have to give up gigs altogether you will hate even more. It comes to all of us in the end and some hearing loss may already be part of your problem. As to your problem you need to boost the mids and cut the bass. The bass is where the room resonances are and the fact your sound egineer was struggling with the kick sound says there was a problem in the room. On stage you'd also be hearing all the lowest frequencies from the PA which are omnidirectional, just as loud behind as they are in front. With the PA probably louder than the stage levels you almost won't need any bass at all from your amp. I suspect you were close to the PA? I've gone as far as cutting all the bass below 120hz by 24db/8ve before now. Look to boost 200-2kHz as Bill suggests. Also look to get something designed to get the mids to your ears like the LFSys Monaco which has the horn rotated to project a vertical rather than horizontal plane. It might also be worth wearing ear plugs, they do muffle the sound a bit but at the sound levels you were operating at tiny muscles in your ear contract to protect your hearing, just lowering the sound levels might help you get enough information to follow your own playing. Counter intuitively you might hear more with plugs in place
