Chunk Systems Brown Dog up for grabs, not getting the love it deserves from me. The Brown Dog enables you to produce rampaging waves of meat with your bass guitar while still keeping your basslines tight and letting the character of your instrument's tone shine through. With two fuzz modes (hard and soft), a mixing stage and a unique gating circuit the Brown Dog gives you a wide range of fuzzy and synthy bass tones Price includes UK Postage

W1_Pro started following Valve Amp - who’s still using them?

I use an Ashdown Little Bastard with the 2x12" Ashdown cab they make for it. It works great for me, a particularly nice feature is not needing a crane to move it...😆 The band I use it with has an acoustic drumkit and two guitarists who insist on not using any backline (hip, I know but I just can't warm to it, probably my age), plus a singer who uses ears. Onstage volume is never too brutal. Everything is put into the PA and both guitarists and I use wedges. The drumer also has an IEM setup. I get a nice breakup off the amp with plenty of bottom end. All in all, I'm a fan.😃

lowregisterhead started following Tune TWB-5
-
For sale is a Tune TWB-5 bass, in Koa. I bought this as a bit of an an experiment, as they have a reputation for being great basses, and they are! Excellent build quality, with great pickups and preamp, easy to play, and amazing tonal versatility. It's in good order, apart from some buckle marks on the back, and weighs 4.5kg, but sits comfortably on a strap. According to the previous owner, this is is an earlier Japanese-made version, before the name was bought out by a Korean firm. It's a lovely bass, and has a bit of the look of an Alembic or a Pangborn Warlord about it, which is one of the things that drew me to it in the first place, but I find myself reverting to my old Lakland 55-94, which just feels like home, so it's time to move it on. Collection preferred from near Woking in Surrey, but I can post within the UK at the buyer's cost and risk. Sorry, no trade offers please.

A double blind p-bass shootout would be interesting. Various p's at price points from the cheapest Squier to a USA custom shop. Er, anyone bringing a USA custom shop precision? ☺️ -

Jools Holland on Later tries to turn every song into a "featuring me doing meaningless widdles". Some might say this is overdone, but I like it!

Ampeg is always a safe bet for definitive rock tones, the great thing about the V4B is that you can wind up the power tubes at decent stage volume in a small venue. Lovely amp

lowregisterhead started following Music Man Stingray 5 Special Smoked Chrome
-
Up for sale is a MM Stingray 5 Special, with an ebony fingerboard and a rather fetching Smoked Chrome finish, now discontinued I believe. I bought it last year, but despite the fabulous build quality and finish, being light for a fiver at 4.3kg with great balance, fabulous Stingray tones, and being so easy to play, I find myself reverting to my old Lakland 55-94, which just feels like home. Immaculate condition, complete with MM branded Mono semi-rigid case. Specs are here: https://www.music-man.com/instruments/basses/stingray-5-specialhttps://dingwallguitars.com/bass/sp1/ Collection preferred from near Woking in Surrey, but I can post within the UK at the buyer's cost and risk. Sorry, no trade offers please.

I have got a wireless doofer, but never use it as it's another thing to worry about! May try again in the future... The actual problem was that I had the amp on the floor in order to lift the cab, and I'd moved my pedalboard so far back so guitarman had room that I literally had only a foots-length to stand in. Which meant hte slightest wrong move or attempted jig would cause me to kick the cable out. Next time I shall carve out my space a bit more!

I mt up with a fellow bassist the other day, I bought a Rick higain pickup from him. On my clank journey he was telling me about his Ricks and amps He played me a clip on something he was working on, plugged into a V4B. It sounded amazing Who has experience of both of these amps please, I feel it should be the Ampeg all the way For my tribute gigs when I'm not supplying PA and lights, I would consider one of these amps your thoughts my learned friends

Up for sale is a brand new Dingwall SP-1, their new P/J passive bass. I got it from Bass Freaks in Belgium a couple of weeks ago, as there's very few in circulation in the UK as yet. Most dealers here won't have any stock for some time, so here's a chance to get hold of one now. I've used it at two rehearsals, and it's light (4kg), responsive, tonally very versatile, and really easy to play, but I've been using active basses since the 80's, and I find myself reverting to my old Lakland 55-94, which just feels like home. As new, unmarked, and comes complete with gigbag and tool kit. The list price will be £2199 when they finally arrive on these shores in any numbers, so I'm taking a hit on the price, but I suppose that's the cost of early adoption! Specs are here: https://dingwallguitars.com/bass/sp1/ Collection preferred from near Woking in Surrey, but I still have the original shipping carton, so can post within the UK at the buyer's cost and risk. Sorry, no trade offers please.
