  2. Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go - Wham!
  3. I tried one of the Z basses in Andertons and was deeply impressed by how well it compared to Musicman basses. I even preferred the sound, more growl and bite...and there's a slight problem with that...I would find it a struggle to find anything better at any price point unless I hand selected the materials myself. However, I can't get on with that shrunken lower horn on the body so my bank balance remains safe. But if I could find a P bass that sounded like that Z bass...oh boy.
  4. It didn't really offer anything that hasn't been said in other interviews. One small exception to that was when Billy briefly referenced 'dark times' as the reasons for DLR band breaking up and didn't elaborate much further. That was something new.
  5. Just listen to this. The first song pulls in nearly every late seventies production cliche which puts it squarely in kitsch. But it's SO well executed, even those vocals are thick and chocolatey. I can virtually hear fros rustling. Best track is Master of Puppets, it absolutely slays...I could actually see myself playing that on stage at some point if the vocals were there.

There’s a nano cortex at a good price near me on a local FB group and I’d be tempted as a way to capture my core sound and shirk my board down but then I think well I can just bring my board and save £300ish quid. I’ve a couple of core pedals (mostly my tube preamp) and I’d hate anything to happen on a gig but we’re reasonable well protected from the masses but some doofus managed to drop a pint on the ‘stage area’ last gig and it got me thinking. I do think the NC is a tidy wee box and as I’m only really using clean or drive tones and some IR it would be a nice addition.

  8. Start Me Up - Rolling Stones
  9. I don't have anything this weekend. "We’re off this weekend BUT will be back in action on Sat 11/22 at Eden Avenue inside of Game Over downtown West Bend! Check it out!" Daryl
  10. I share highlights of our gigs, the good with the bad. Sometimes things go wrong and you just can't put your finger on it. " The audience wasn't into it" It hurts it's certainly happened to us, and more than once. Sounds like a good discussion. "What Can You Do When The Crowd Ain't Into It ? I have a few thoughts on when and why it happens. Daryl
  11. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  12. Jump - Van Halen
  13. Oops, just realised, wrong thread!
  14. Evening all. I currently play in a classic rock covers band with 2 guitarists but I'm looking for a new project next year. I was thinking about a three piece band(definitely not 2 guitarists again) but I've wondered what it would be like to play with a good quality drum machine. Has anyone on here ever tried it and if so, how did you get on? Cheers
  15. Yeah totally get that, especially with big screens and air vents but there’s some great protectors you can get to minimise risk. I remember when the cat knocked a guitar neck off a shelf and it landed headstock down about an inch from my QC, nearly needed to change my trousers. Our guitarist uses a nano cortex for his new metal cover band into the return on his JCM800, he was comparing the capture with the amp at practice and aside from slight level differences it was practically perfect. I still think they dropped the ball by missing out an FX loop, makes the pitch stuff pretty useless if you want a drive pedal on your board. The anagram is a hell of a lot more power though if you need it. And the I/O is incredible.
  16. Porthole is no problem (holesaw), also the control plate (jigsaw). I'm weighing up how best to do the speaker cut out, I also have a palm router (and a plunge router although I'm not sure about the chuck on it).

  18. Just got in from seeing Volbeat (with Bush as support) at Wembley Arena. My first time seeing them and they were really good, very nice to see a lead singer that sounds just as good live as on the recorded material.
  19. I did spend the budget on the Canadian Dingwall. The other two are cheap as chips!
  20. More Bounce To The Ounce - Zapp
  21. That is impressive! Thanks.
  22. I’m hugely impressed that you've actually lost count
  23. At a mere three you are a comparative miser i have three but they are all different (honest) one acoustic, one active four, one five string
  24. If @HeadlessBassist decides that it doesn’t work with his pickguard, I will put it up for sale on BC once I’ve cleaned the polish out of the holes lol
  25. As promised…..It really is very glossy lol
  26. Bounce - Calvin Harris
