A non-gigging classic rock band. ? Just for rehearsal fun i take it but why not do the odd gig. ? Do you mind if i ask what's stopping you gigging Lozz. ? I know you have back issues but is it just the hassle of loading in/out etc. Dave

If you have an original, get it copied, either by Brian Pillans (earlpilanz on ebay) or Tinytone. Other pickguard makers are probably available, but those are the two who spring to mind.

I'm looking for a decent replacement pickguard, if you know of any?

PedalTrain Nano Max pedal board with case and shoulder strap. 28” wide pedal board in excellent condition. Has the 3 holes drilled where I had a recently purchased True Tone CS6 power supply mounted (also listed). The project I bought this board and the CS6 for literally fell apart less than 2 weeks after buying it, so it’s barely been used. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

I'm looking for a good replacement pickguard, the one I found is a very soft plastic, scratches easily, utter crap.
-
Great news about the gig but sorry to hear you're giving up the gigging side of bass @Lozz196 Dave
-
Indeed, but some seem to post simply for the sake of getting a 'click bait' response. It's a compulsion, a sort of illness, really. My usual response to the usual suspects is to let the dogs bark; the caravan will pass, whatever.

This is the model of 410 combo I tried and loved. Series 6 GP12. -
That's the sad part of it, Dad. I don't believe they were trolling

Sweden has had the “kulturskolan” system forever, where people can go to learn music for free, and use their rehearsal and recording facilities, also for free. Musicians there can also take advantage of government subsidies to put gigs on, record albums, do promotion, etc. This is probably the single biggest reason why Sweden punches so far above its weight in terms of music. Last time I was there, I had a nice conversation with a girl who is the lead guitarist in a successful Swedish all-female AC/DC-style rock band, who organised the gig I was playing that night, and she told me about how it all works and how their system helped her band. Ireland has also just made a form of UBI for artists permanent after a successful pilot programme. There’s more qualifications required than the Swedish system and the degree of support isn’t as extensive, but it’s a big step in the right direction. These systems seem to enjoy significant public support too - they consider it tax money well spent because they value culture. I’ve always said you can judge a country based on how it treats its artists.

Ah, I should make clear I've no intention of gigging this amp - it's just for my practice space. We are moving house next year but the removal men can worry about it. Likely in our new home we'll have a combined lounge / practice space because we're downsizing which is why I'm also looking for something that looks tidy. -
When I stayed in Glasgow I was often in Sound Control. It was a good store with friendly and helpful staff. Good deals could be made with everybody happy. I miss those days.

As new Behringer NR300 noise gate 2 of 2. A have 2 of these for sale. Both are as new, have their original box and are in good working order. I bought one for each of my pedal boards. They do the job and have a handy mute function which I found incredibly useful. I just needed something simple to cut pedal noise when in the studio and these worked beautifully. They’ve had studio use only. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

Did you have to get that wee lick in there at the end? That right wing sentiment rubbing off on you or something? Don't make me come down there and educate you about Scotland's net worth to the United Kingdom. I'm worth half of the Barnett Formula alone. But if you want me gone, just say the word.

The only band I would swallow my pride and play in a tribute band for. The track is '1-2-3' from the 1987 album, 'Let Loose' by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine. Sharp horns and a great rhythm section. The bass player is Jorge Casas. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/1-2-3-gloria-estefan-and-miami-sound-machine/

The way the British society is increasingly leaning, right-wing populism based on feelings and prejudice rather than facts, I seriously doubt any government would spend even a second considering whether to pay a living wage to artists. Can you imagine the public outcry? "My mum's waiting for a hip operation and Kier Starmer's paying for some kid to sit on his ringpiece and learn how to play the bass!" The press would have a field day. We are a nation of philistines, and it's going to get much worse very soon. There is no chance of this ever being adopted in the U.K, except possibly by Scotland, and they would expect England to pay for it.

Essentially new EBS Bass IQ Blue Label and original box. Awesome envelope filter pedal that doesn’t really need any introduction. Surplus to requirements now as the project I bought it for has fallen apart. I’d be astonished if it’s had more than half a dozen hours play time. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.

OMG.... just watched ST2.... what a blast. OK, so I'm a spinal tap fan, so this review should be taken with that in mind. Cameos... far from distracting from the premise I think it brings a level of authenticity which adds credence to the whole proceedings. The drummer interviews particularly but also Elton John who is marvelous. And the 'one on ones' with the cast are like the original and brilliant, especially the Nigel Tuffnel cheese bits! And then there's the occasional moment of honesty and tensions that happen in a real band situation. I was trepidatious of this movie but it's a worthy sequel and also a catch up for the fans which, for me at least, far from disappoints. PS I've ordered my 'Tap' water and offered Thomann a half wheel of cheese for a PRS as they're about the same weight.
