Pete bought a couple of Carol Kaye books from me. A nice easy transaction and I'd be happy to deal with Pete anytime again. Many thanks

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2025?
Mudpup replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
The stuff I've picked up this year has all been brilliant. After stopping gigging late last year I've changed loads of stuff out (Barefaced cabs, GR amps and a cab and a MarkBass 5 string) and I've been really happy with all of the replacements. I can't pick a winner between one of @stevie's LfSys Monaco cabs or a purple Spector Pulse 2 5 string with an Lhz preamp fitted. The second hand Bugera Veyron BV1001M that cost buttons gets an honourable mention too. -

*PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.

In mint condition with original tags (does not show any sign of use). Beautifully constructed and offers a lot of protection for your prized instruments! My Yamaha TRB 5P2 electric bass fits as the Gator cases come up slightly bigger than standard. Icon bass case 45” internal. I’ll update the post with pics to show. * 3rd photo is my medium scale (33”) ACG bass in the case. *Collection preferred from Aylesbury or buyer arranged courier.* Online description below:👇 The Gator ICON Series Bag for 335 Style Guitars is a multi-layered semi-rigid bag that makes it easier to safely transport your instrument around. It is constructed from weather-resistant 1000D black nylon, for its exterior, while the interior is soft lined with red micro-velvet fabric. There are also hideaway backpack straps for easy carrying that also includes a bottle opener and stowaway D-ring. You won't need to worry about losing your gear, with the exterior pop-out luggage tag, and the interior serialized bag tracker, which can be quickly registered or identified with a laser-etched QR code. It also has a removable and adjustable neck support block with a hook-and-loop wrap that increases stability during transport. As well as this it has a TSA luggage lock-friendly zipper, rubber bumpers, and padded grab handles on the front back, and side.

My choice would be MarkBass 58R cabs which are very light Perhaps a 2x12 cab and a small 500w head and that would be loud enough and light too I play in a rock band and use 2 x MarkBass 2x10 cabs and a LM IV or Orange Little Bass Thing So light and very loud and full

Drums don’t tend to sound great through guitar or bass amps, due to their limited frequency range. You’d be best off with a full range cab for that purpose. -

Mapped out my biggest pedal board build. Power is next. Going through Boss Looper on floor along with a few bass pedals. Guitar to stereo amp and bass to bass amp, with rhythm going to both. Bass and Guitar are both going through the Boss Looper

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2025?

Two 'Best Purchases' for me, nothing particularly bad this year... First is a Warwick Streamer LX that I got from eBay for an absolute steal. Needed new tuners (which I got from here!) and new strings, which I had, other than that its in exceptional condition and sounds brutal with that awesome Warwick growl. The second, was a Tamburo Opera Stave 7 piece kit with a full suite of Meinl Custom Classic Dark cymbals. This is an astonishing kit... FAR better than I deserve, but I love it. -
Recently took this wonderful Nordstand Power Blade 4 out of one of my P basses as I've been looking for a more vintage tone. The pickup has the black magnets (which have some wear from playing) for the stealth look and has an amazing, punchy modern p tone with a very lovely mid range presence. Can include the black pickup screws that came with it. £80 delivered ono

Having spent way too much time looking at amps and cabinets today. The "GP11 Mk V" (left) would seem a good option at £250 but it's in Scotland. The AH250 (right) has UV light goodness, and separate amp/cab seems a good idea, and it's closer to home. Maybe I'm being picky, but I don't like that the amp isn't the same size as the cabinet for stacking. Either way, today I'm tending towards a 4x10" rather than a 15". Tomorrow may change! -

I see. I'm aware of the preset relief, I thought you meant yours had something wrong with it! The action is very low on mine as it is. I think the previous line of Vigiers with the graphite neck had a completely flat relief. -
