Last Tuesday I went to get custom impressions for my Sennheiser IE100. Let's see how they work.

Politics are wrong, a bassist needs a drummer to offset the egos/madness of the guitarists and singer I've done it, once, never again 👍

Local band, Nuns Of The Tundra at Bristol Academy tonight. They booked the gig to play the second stage but determined to sell enough tickets to be upgraded to the main stage and they've done it. This will be by far their biggest show so hopefully, they'll be on top form.

I'll give MPC Stems more of a go over the weekend, probably a bit unfair of me to say it's so rubbish after only an hour with it. I would say as first impressions though, I've used a few stems things and they all seemed more intuitive, faster, and better results. This lengthy written tutorial kind of demonstrates how it is potentially quite un-intuative https://share.google/HiG1ct1JXDqRPdCq5

Bought around 12 mths ago as a B Stock from Guitar Village. The B stock label os due to the paint dent on the arm contour. I have drop filled it slightly with black nail varnish and it has never bothered me but it is there. I upgraded the wiring to a 60’s style loom from Jagged Offset guitars and had a full set up at PSG Guitars in Radcliffe where my favourite Elites strings were fitted. It has had a bridge cover previously fitted and i do still have the tugbar somewhere. Can provide an old shaped case of needed. Collection would be from Bolton but can discuss meetups and potentially UK postage

I hope you do, but if you don’t….. you know where I am 😁🤣

That's exactly what I did too. I had the added requirement of 35" scale, which is basically just non-existant on the used market, so after a year of searching I finally bit the bullet and ordered a brand new one. By far the most expensive bass or guitar I've ever bought, but I have every intention of holding on to this for many years.

That’s a beauty 🤩 Reverse P + MM humbucker really does sound fantastic. I had one and sold it, I’ve been looking for a second hand one for ages but they don’t seem to come up as 5’s very often (which I think tells you how good they are!). I might end up doing the unthinkable and actually paying full price new for one eventually, such a fat sound when blend is centred!

I tried one of the Z basses in Andertons and was deeply impressed by how well it compared to Musicman basses. I even preferred the sound, more growl and bite...and there's a slight problem with that...I would find it a struggle to find anything better at any price point unless I hand selected the materials myself. However, I can't get on with that shrunken lower horn on the body so my bank balance remains safe. But if I could find a P bass that sounded like that Z bass...oh boy. -
It didn't really offer anything that hasn't been said in other interviews. One small exception to that was when Billy briefly referenced 'dark times' as the reasons for DLR band breaking up and didn't elaborate much further. That was something new.

Just listen to this. The first song pulls in nearly every late seventies production cliche which puts it squarely in kitsch. But it's SO well executed, even those vocals are thick and chocolatey. I can virtually hear fros rustling. Best track is Master of Puppets, it absolutely slays...I could actually see myself playing that on stage at some point if the vocals were there.

There’s a nano cortex at a good price near me on a local FB group and I’d be tempted as a way to capture my core sound and shirk my board down but then I think well I can just bring my board and save £300ish quid. I’ve a couple of core pedals (mostly my tube preamp) and I’d hate anything to happen on a gig but we’re reasonable well protected from the masses but some doofus managed to drop a pint on the ‘stage area’ last gig and it got me thinking. I do think the NC is a tidy wee box and as I’m only really using clean or drive tones and some IR it would be a nice addition.

I don't have anything this weekend. "We’re off this weekend BUT will be back in action on Sat 11/22 at Eden Avenue inside of Game Over downtown West Bend! Check it out!" Daryl

I share highlights of our gigs, the good with the bad. Sometimes things go wrong and you just can't put your finger on it. " The audience wasn't into it" It hurts it's certainly happened to us, and more than once. Sounds like a good discussion. "What Can You Do When The Crowd Ain't Into It ? I have a few thoughts on when and why it happens. Daryl
