Rattling Truss Rod on a Washburn XB500
bass_dinger replied to bass_dinger's topic in Repairs and Technical
Let me look at my own early XB500, and take some photos and get back to you. In the meantime, you might want to start a separate, and new, thread about your own XB500. -

I've got both of these albeit switched a GP7 head into the 4x10 combo and it is stupid heavy - as in I'm increasingly needing a second person to lift it into the car. The AH250 head plus 4x10 us a bit more manageable. Also, I've happily run my electric drum kit into most of these and they sounds absolutely fine, are plenty loud, and nothing has ever blown. At the moment my son has the drumkit plugged into (another) GP7 head and the Peavy era 2x10/1x15 TE stack in a box and it sounds great. -

Needed..? Certainly not, but quite useful, in an oblique way. It gives some insight into the mindset of the poster; this may serve as a 'filter' of sorts when appreciating other posts from the same source. It's an indication of 'banter', a bit like the building site 'wolf whistle' that could be heard in days of yore. Some continue these 'traditions'; these posts are remnants of those times gone by. -

Back to Holland - a complete transcription of the tune 'Make Believe' from his 1999 Quintet album 'Prime Directive'. Some interesting structures here. A couple of sections that I can't quite pin down (they are marked) but the chart has its merits and is worth posting, despite its shortcomings. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/make-believe-dave-holland-quintet/

Keep up the good work, Gareth! I'm still on page 31, but taking them round the cycle from memory. My brain trips up sometimes, getting confused between tonal harmony and alternating I-V harmony. In for example the key of C, tonal harmony has the G7 on the V chord - no surprise there! So I find myself scratching my head sometimes when the G bass is instead a I chord, and the 4th and 6th notes of the key are both a V7 chord. LOL. I keep forgetting, of course, that these shapes are for over a static chord, and therefore the Tonal rules do not apply. Looking ahead, I see Chapter 2 might shed some light on all of this, but I'll wait until I'm comfortable with the various shapes over a static chord before launching into it.

Hi Folks, I am selling this custom GregoryPreamp cream GBP3. All prewired! It will be a matter of soldering the pickups and you are good to go! It's mostly custom because a tone knob working in both active/passive has been added compared to what comes standard. If you compare the frequencies to an Aguilar OBP3, they are very close. Punch, Loud, Lots of tonal options. This will make your Low B sound like you haven't heard it before. Because I am nice , I am including a sound clip (which most people don't do) It's a 5 knob config (see picture) Volume active passive push pull Tone control working in both passive and active mode Blend bass 40Hz +/-18dB (stacked with treble) treble 6.5kHz +/-18dB (stacked with bass) mid +/-12dB 400Hz/600Hz/800hz frequencies switched by microswitch inside the cavity An additional microswitch enables the emulation mode of a 5m Fender cable, which allows you to change the character of the sound of the pickups. An additional +10 dB Gain trimmer inside the cavity Wired 18v (2x9v) Funk.wav

Working through the ABRSM piano grades
bass_dinger replied to bass_dinger's topic in Other Instruments
It's November already, and I am barely ready for the exam, scheduled for the 10th. Grade 2 has been a very unsatisfactory experience. I have played the exam pieces so often that I have grown to loathe them. For Grade 3 piano, I plan to try a different approach. I will play each piece for two weeks, and then move on to the next piece regardless of whether it is exam-ready. Hopefully, that will stop me getting bored with playing. Moreover, I will practice for longer each day, without distraction. -
Andertons have a deal on the Fender 800 just now for £650 which is cheaper than the 500 model and as Lozz says weighs 13 kg. So I had to buy one as I stupidly sold my 500 Rumble to get a Markbass cab which I didn`t like.
