  2. Dam That River - Alice In Chains
  3. there are many lowish gain drives that would fit the bill. The first stop for me would be to try something like the full sized spark as mentioned by Lozz
  4. When The Levee Breaks - Led Zep
  5. Looks like a surface scratch, probably from a hasty string change.
  6. The Nanoweb coated Nickel Elixirs are the ones I mainly use. I change them once a year, usually after 30-40 two hour live shows. Also, the 40-95 set are really comfortable to play, very bendable, but still with good string tension and no loss of tone.
  7. Is he buying this himself or are you purchasing it for him? If it's the former just get him to buy a Fishman of his own, problem sorted. Seeing as you already have PA and monitoring an amp is a bit pointless IMO. If funds won't stretch to a Fishman then this might work, still has a notch filter for mid set feedback busting and is only £36 with the BLACKFRI20 code. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315171151745 Does have a 10 megaohm impedance but no mid freq and a single treble control, you can dial out piezo quack and harsh high end at the desk though.
  8. Here Comes The Flood - Peter Gabriel
  9. He seems really down to earth and I regularly see him out and about at local gigs supporting bands which I respect a lot. I don’t like everything he puts out, he’s brash and loud but it’s a refreshing change from most of the bass content out there. I struggled with it at first but warmed to it a lot. As for clickbait, unfortunately that’s just how it is now for small content creators, without it you’re sadly not gonna get much traction.
  10. Who'll Stop The Rain ? - CCR
  11. £50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Chrome hardware and a vintage sunburst finish. Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and a basswood body. A retro instrument with a modern twist." Maple Top Mahogany Body Mahogany Neck Lignum Rosa Fingerboard Entwistle MBH Bridge Pickup Entwistle MBN Neck Pickup Jumbo Frets 42mm Nut Width 30" Scale Length Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  12. I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁
  13. The guys at Jaydee in my experience are always helpful. I wonder if they could accredit the bass in some way to make it identifiable? I was just surprised at it's existence at all, a 30.5 scale Jaydee Supernatural
  14. You're welcome, Dunc! GLWTS!
  15. If you're still using an analogue desk, I would encourage you to buy one of these digital desks and wonder why you hadn't before. I cannot adequately describe the difference the XR18 has made to my band. The sound is so much clearer and the freedom it gives people, to manage their own monitor mix etc, is game changing. It has raised our (sonic) game exponentially.
  16. I was about to buy the Jaydee when I noticed the lack of a serial number on the headstock. Bass Bros said this was because it was a prototype but I'm not prepared to buy something that effectively has no traceability.
  17. Funnily enough I was looking at the Kala 5-string the other night and wondered what they were like... Maybe an alt-bass forum? Anything not a "normal" bass guitar or double bass/EUB
  18. TC Electronic Spark Booster, or Ampeg Scrambler would both work, adding in just a tad of gain to the sound but not changing the tone.
  19. The ROLAND KD-8 Kick Pad is a lightweight 8-inch high-quality trigger pad designed for V Drums, featuring a solid durable metal and rubber construction. Its compact size and lightweight design make it easy to transport and store, making it a versatile option for drummers looking for a reliable and high-quality kick pad to enhance their performance. Designed to replicate the sound and feel of a traditional kick drum. Great condition: tested and in full working order. Will work with all Roland TD modules. Selling due to kit upgrade. Width: 27cm Depth: 26cm Height: 40.5cm Weight: 6 lbs 7oz Only £55. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred.
  20. The DM610 is a large bookshelf/standmount speaker from renowned hi-fi brand B&W, featuring a well-braced 30-litre sealed cabinet with 8-inch mid-bass driver. The larger driver and extra cabinet space create a much better low end range than from most similar speakers. This model allows for either bi-wiring or bi-amplification. These speakers present clean tight bass response, surprisingly clear mids for such a large driver and the pleasant highs that the well-designed B&W tweeter at that time was famous for. They can be driven quite loud, enough for the physical effect of the bass to be felt without audible distortion or a sense of sound compression. Both speakers are in Very Good condition, especially for their vintage. All-original, complete with full grilles (one of which has a small hole, shown in the final photo). Only £125. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred. Here comes the science bit… Type: 2-way closed, shelf speaker Colour: Ash black veneer Dimensions: 490 x 236 x 303 mm (H x W x D) Weight: 7.8 kg Recommended amplifier power: 30-150 W Frequency response: 70 - 20,000 Hz (±2 dB) Crossover: 2500 Impedance: 4 Ohm
  21. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  22. Getting nominated for awards is apparently something one can influence. I do know someone who got nominated for a blues award a few years back, much to the consternation of almost everyone I know. The list of nominees was a "who's who" of the blues scene....except one. Apparently one of the nominees asked him directly "who the f**k are you?". So, you just need a good PR machine.
  23. I think the Jaydee has gone, and it was a bit rich for my blood anyway.
  24. Today
  25. Jazzbois Been listening to them for a year on Youtube before I first seized the opportunity to see this Hungarian group when they opened the Brick Lane Jazz festival last year. Might have been 30 (40 maybe?) people in the crowd IMO. Then saw them at sold out Jazz Cafe later that year. Missed them earlier this year but caught them this weekend ending their short tour. Love hearing this live.
