The whole 'kitchen scales' thing is just so declasse these days, don't you think? Here we have the intersection of luggage scales with a meat-hook ... so much more satisfying. And no, your eyes do not deceive you. The scales register exactly 9.5lbs = pretty much the weight of every decent (single-necked) P-bass in existence.

Ovation Magnum II Fretless with Graphic EQ
HeadlessBassist replied to Happy Jack's topic in Basses For Sale
My eye (yes, I have two. Don't worry...) was caught by the cool looking lever at the top of the bridge - does this amazingly manly bass have a lever that deploys the string mutes? Bet MusicMan wish they'd thought of that before adding those fiddly tiny metal round screws under the bridges of Classic Stingrays. Seriously impressed by the intonation calibration markings on the bridge as well. If Bang & Olufsen made basses, they would make basses like this. -
$6.5k with buyer’s premium. It never ceases to amaze me how auction houses fleece both buyer & seller and it’s treated as normal (which I supposed it is, but I still think it’s wrong).

Thanks, that's awesome. CD and Vinyl aso available directly from the record company (Skepwax) or from the band at gigs in Leeds tonight or London tomorrow .

Well-used Keeley Bassist compressor, in fully working condition. Cosmetically it’s not in great nick, but functionally it’s exactly as it should be. Includes original box manual / paperwork Velcro on the base, as it’s lived on a board. Anyone who knows the Bassist will know how good these are, simple, transparent, and very effective compression. £90 Happy to meet in / around Edinburgh, or can post for around £10 UK at buyer’s cost.

Classic Japanese OC-2. Fully working. Cosmetically quite rough (reflected in the price). I don’t know the exact age and I’m not sure whether the ACA → 9V mod has been done, however: • Works perfectly on battery • Works perfectly when powered from my TU-3 (daisy-chain) • Tracks as expected and sounds exactly as an OC-2 should Currently fitted with a different BOSS base plate with Velcro on it, but includes the original rubber base and screws. No original box or manual. £150 UK postage: £10 Happy to meet in / around Edinburgh, or post at buyer’s cost

Origin Effects BassRig Ampeg B15 Fliptop recreation
krispn replied to Quatschmacher's topic in Effects
First class. Maybe I’ll have to get one in the next wave. Borrowing my guitarists Nano Cortex tonight for the first set and have a couple of sounds loaded one being B15 capture. Ideally I’d shift some pedlas and things first! It does sound big and warm from the demos and a bit of a mix filler in a good way. -
Love it, The Don can do no wrong.

Sad to hear that - been there myself and only just now got out of it. Why not start an off-topic thread with your skill set stated ? Maybe someone here knows something … maybe their employer is hiring, which did actually happen to me this time.

There was about five minutes of that. The rest was mainly a history of Joy Division, New Order, and a plug for the current Hook & Son band. - Today

I thoroughly enjoyed that, I left it playing on repeat while decorating. Indie pop isn't my genre really, but as others have said, had an 80s feel, and could almost have been Blondie in a couple of places. There were some neat turns of phrase in the lyrics, particularly in the latter songs on the album. There's some talent developing there Available through Bandcamp, which is how I've bought the CD. https://tulparockband.bandcamp.com/album/monster-of-the-week

Out of phase - Need help - Passive EMG (GZR/MMHZ)
K-2 replied to K-2's topic in Repairs and Technical
Hey Martin, Tried flipping the pins, but I'm getting a hum and overall scratchy/distorted sound. But it seemed like the out of phase sound was gone, when blended with bridge pickup - so something was right hehe. I have borrowed a soldering iron from a friend, but have never used it in my life. Guess I need to give it a shot. Any quick tips on that? I can logically understand that when desoldering those wire I should avoid that solder dripping on the pot, etc. Thank you so much! -

A DMM sure tells something about the batteries. True battery testers usually have some kind of load which gives better understanding of the capacity.
