  3. ***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

  5. Thoughts are with you at a worrying time Greg. Take care and hope you get the results we all want to hear. Dave
  6. The very definition of good times!
  7. Ah, that's a shame. I was looking at those big 15" TE cabinets and imaging how good they'd sound for the kick drum - but of course (as you say) they aren't going to be that good for snare, etc.
  8. Much as it pains me to offer this bass for sale, I need to continue thinning out the herd. As I have two Precisions, it's a numbers thing and this one I'm afraid has to go 🫤. I'm sure fellow lefties will understand that it takes time to find a good lefty bass, and even longer to find a really good one. This Fender Player is a really good one and has been my go to bass for the last few years. IMHO, this bass just wants to be played. It's a MIM of course, polar white with minty pick guard and maple neck. It weighs in at just around 3.9kg. Everything is fender player original, i've never seen any reason to upgrade any of the hardware or electrics. It's in excellent condition with no scrapes or dings. It's strung currently with Ernie Ball stainless flats in 100 guage. It plays fast and smooth, and has a fairly powerful pickup. Classic p-bass tones by the shed load, and it sits well in a band mix and as a recording instrument. Everything works as it should, tuners, electrics and truss rod. I don't have a case for it and would rather not ship it anywhere either. Interested parties are welcome to come and give it a go in person, tea and biscuits provided. Thanks for reading my ad.
  9. 10CC are one of those bands that were so high profile during their time, but have been kind of air brushed from history subsequently. I remember well how important they were in their heyday, but they are seldom cited as an influence by musicians nowadays or feted in the mainstream media for their extraordinary talents. I think a lot of that has to do with 10CC being an unapologetically clever band. In their own way, they were a kind of Mancunian Steely Dan. Every track was an art project, and they tried to be playful and provocative with the pop music medium they were working within. Therein lay their downfall, because particularly after punk rock happened anti-intellectualism became the only acceptable stance for critics and the listeners they influenced. The fact remains however, that 10CC were a very popular mainstream band in the 1970's, just like ABBA and ELO. They had UK Number 1 singles when that was still a big deal. They were ever-present on radio, regularly on television, did big live shows, loads of people liked their music and bought their records. 10CC wrote great songs that really connected with people, not surprising if they've got people a songwriterwith pedigree like Graham Gouldman in the band, and they definitely deserve to be rediscovered and given the credit they deserve.
  10. Talking of pushing air, those ports really do their job. I could feel my shorts flapping when I turned the wick up.
  11. My last listing of this bass lasted about 24 hrs before sellers remorse kicked in - let's see how long I last this time. It's a stunning bass, but want is very different to need so I'm reluctantly listing this. My modded ‘95 Ray gets more attention as it’s a highly nostalgic bass for me, so as much as I like this Special I’m struggling to justify keeping it. Made in 2020, great condition, Ivory White with Rosewood fingerboard. Super comfy to play and sounds spot on - sound clip posted below. Weighs 4kg / 8.9lb. Comes with case and candy. Sound clip... - Preamp EQ is flat. - Strings are well worn in. - Played into Logic and Aguilar Plugin Suite, AG amp set flat, 2x12 cab. Link to my feedback thread Cheers 👍

  12. Badum, tish!!!!!!
  13. Smaller speakers blah blah blah more displacement blah blah. A big cab pushing air is a very fine thing.
  14. This really is a great amp for the price, if I wasn't thinning out my collection I'd be all over this....
  15. Thanks Nick, wholeheartedly agree, this amp really does deliver, the new owner won't be disappointed
  16. Well, it has been nearly two months, so hey-ho and up she rises, etc. Bump.
  17. Pete bought a couple of Carol Kaye books from me. A nice easy transaction and I'd be happy to deal with Pete anytime again. Many thanks
  18. The stuff I've picked up this year has all been brilliant. After stopping gigging late last year I've changed loads of stuff out (Barefaced cabs, GR amps and a cab and a MarkBass 5 string) and I've been really happy with all of the replacements. I can't pick a winner between one of @stevie's LfSys Monaco cabs or a purple Spector Pulse 2 5 string with an Lhz preamp fitted. The second hand Bugera Veyron BV1001M that cost buttons gets an honourable mention too.
  19. Gigged one the other day! Shame that they’re not getting as much use and love as deserved 😖
  20. Delivery within reason possible….
  21. *PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.

  23. All unused, top quality sets. Double ball ends but possibly can be used for shorter basses. 37” length. (I could use the outer strings on my standard scale bass but would rather sell as sets). * Newtone 5 string sets x 6: Diamond Bass, hex core, stainless steel, 46-130, length 37” (ball end to ball end) with tapered B. £25 each (discount for multi purchase) ( I also have a Hot Wires 5 string flat wound set…pm me)
  24. My choice would be MarkBass 58R cabs which are very light Perhaps a 2x12 cab and a small 500w head and that would be loud enough and light too I play in a rock band and use 2 x MarkBass 2x10 cabs and a LM IV or Orange Little Bass Thing So light and very loud and full
  25. Sad day. Glasgow store used to be Sound Control where I bought a musicman stingray. Which I still have
