  2. Have fun, smile lots and look like you’re enjoying yourself. Try to make eye contact with the audience. Take spares. Act professionally. Remember that your job is to entertain the audience. If you’re singing, set up your mic carefully so it’s in the right position when you start and if there’s no stage have one of the three legs of the mic stand pointing directly towards you so you’re less likely to have your teeth knocked out if a punter bashes into it. Are you all using wireless? Have you all used your wireless systems together to make sure the channels don’t clash? Use ear protection. Tinnitus isn’t fun. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

  4. I built a pickup maybe 25 years ago that can handle low frequencies, DC - 400 Hz. It is made from an acceleration sensor. Small, but goes really low, even too low (DC). I made a HPF to it because amps were really hot after some playing: the directional component was too much to most amps I tried. Needs a power, like a 9 V battery. Not so good by itself, because of so limited response but could take care of the low end. Sensibility is comparable to other pickups available. I got the sensors from a certain manufacturer. They did not limit the response in production, and therefore it goes so high. Many units are limited to, say 100 Hz.
  5. Does it come in a JJ as well, Mep..?

  7. The one in The Gallery is a nice thing. I tried it the other day. Thin neck, nice tone, looks the part. My reservation is that I think it might be a bit pricey for what it is. But I guess the gallery has overheads that we don't. Your shortscale will undoubtedly be nicer to play, and what with these both being quite 'thumpy' semi acoustic basses, I doubt the scale length will make any real diff to the tone. GLWTS!
  8. Yes I too have one. Very subtle though. And I debate with myself if a little bit makes the sound a bit fuller or not all the time. It would be the first pedal I get rid of 😅
  9. I thought I would try these to get a brighter sound than my go to flats and in that respect they don’t disappoint! However after a few tries and not many hours use, I’m sticking with flats! There are a few odd little brown spots here and there (see centre of second picture) which I guess might clean/rub off. Cut for a Precision. UK Postage included.
  10. Reliced Stack Knob control plate. Postage can be arranged or you are welcome to collect.
  11. Taken from a 2020 ‘63 Precision Bass relic. No mounting screws. Postage can be arranged or you are welcome to collect.
  12. First ever wedding dep gig. It was well paid but what an odd existence it must be to play these week in and week out. Finally paid the last instalment on my summer holiday which has 100% been paid with gig fees. Room just boomed and boomed.
  13. I also have a Kingman V2 bass, and have just got a sound hole plug off eBay. I measured the sound hole to be 96 mm, and could only find anyone selling this size on eBay and the few I found who did were all based in China. Still, ordered one and it arrived a couple of weeks later. Around £7 & fits perfectly, but only used it on one gig so far where it seemed to do a good job of reducing the likelihood of feedback. I play my Kingman into a Rumble 100 combo often with little distance between them so am hoping this helps. I did notice the lack of acoustic noise at first, but a small price to pay for the cut in feedback.
  14. I very often use the passenger seat of our little Rover 25 - seat reclined a bit - bass upside down and secured with the seatbelt. Works a treat. A bit more of a pain to get in and out, but not much. I can carry a double bass, our PA, and my Bass amplification - and if someone else carries one of the PA speakers - I can carry a back seat passenger too.
