Well, I didn't use all capitals at least. I'm sure Sapko is a nice guy if you met him. I just can't be bothered with clickbait internet personality crap, so I don't watch it.

Adding another cab to my rig suggestions please
BassYerbouti replied to BassYerbouti's topic in Amps and Cabs
Thanks for all the advice chaps. There is so much choice out there and no shops around where I live to try things out so I guess I'll just watch other bands that come past and see if there is a tone I like and maybe bite the bullet. For the time being I wont be adding a second cab. Thanks once again -
...he says shouting on the internet 🙂 !!!

So important to do the things you want to do together - I have the reverse situation, I am 67, other half is 55. She is going to get out this year, we have things to do I just describe myself as a 'man of leisure' although I have had plenty of work from when I made myself redundant and took early retirement.

I strongly consider covering Wolfpack with Syd Barrett, one of my absolute favorite songs, but is quite difficult to get right as it has a very free flowing structure. I ponder on playing along with bass to the original tune, of course only record my own bass, and then record the vocals after. Just 2 tracks, tenor bass, and vocals, which doesn't exactly make it any easier to do it justice. I am quite likely not to be one of the first to post my contribution, as is otherwise custom. I basically never did any serious covers before. -

For everyone moaning about who is on it, I dont think anyone could say Hook's style is distinctive. I grew up listening to New Order and loved them right up until I saw them support the Chili Peppers in Dublin in 2002. They were awful. Snidey and couldn't give a toss. I couldn't listen to them after that. Melissa Auf Der Maur has her autobiography coming out next year so her publicist got her on the show no doubt. I always liked her solo stuff and although she hasn't done much musically since then having not been invited back to the Smashing Pumpkins as they've hired Peter Hook's son, I'd still be intrigued to watch. As for Nate Mendel, with 3 guitars in the Foo Fighters, who cares what the bass does? Exactly, nobody. Plus, they haven't released decent material for quite some time. Ultimately, nobody is going to have their taste catered for by such a generic programme. Besides, quite a lot of the people who you might want to hear from on such a programme are long since dead sadly. -

I found very similar with a search for "i-pace" in the Electric Vehicles thread. -

I think it was Mark Twain who said something like "Ageing......a privilege denied to many" and it strikes a chord with me. After a couple of years illness I was fit enough to return to work by which time I'd asked myself "Why?". My wife is 11 years older than me so leaving retirement to 67 meant that she would be 78! We looked at our finances eg: what we spend and any savings (piggy bank and down the back of the sofa!) and decided it would be a good time for me to retire. There wont be any world cruises or Porsches in our future but we dont care. We'll be able to spend OUR time doing things WE want before any health or age issues restrict us. Everyday I appreciate that I'm doing something not everyone can and that if I NEED to go back to work in the future I will. I'm not sure whether to tell people "I'm retired" or "I'm on my gap decade" 🤔🤣

And a spammer isn't going to give you any useful info either, especially one I just kicked out. For reference, anyone who resurects a year+ old topic, quotes a post and says 'thanks for the info', just expand the quote, you will find that they have put a load of links at the bottom that you dont' see as it is all collapsed. -

Whomever awarded that 2020 player of whatever award must have exactly the taste I have come to expect from such things. It's a horrific tone (he's playing a Chowny so no surprises there), but it's exactly the kind of burpy cod jazz crap that should have been burned after the 80's. Say "Behs" all you want Danny, it's still insipid 70's lift music from The Towering Inferno. To quote the great James Coburn: "Don't think that just because you and Colonel Brandt are more enlightened than most officers that I hate you any less. I hate all officers. All the Stranskys, all the Treibigs, all the Iron Cross scavengers in the whole German army." That's how I feel about Internet personas, influencers, youtubers who do clickbait titled videos and worst of all, those who pretend to care about who they're interviewing but get things so amazingly wrong that it shows they've just not done their research and can't be bothered. We live in an age where being great at self promotion and shouting about it is better than having any form of groundbreaking talent. Sapko and his ilk are just the symptom, not the cause.

One tip is not to have bright lights pointing out at the audience from the stage. It makes you difficult to see. If you're going to have lights for the dance floor, have a good think about their location. If lights are to light up the band, they need to be at the front, as high up as possible, down onto the band. Side fills are ok, but they will put the band into silhouette if there's nothing from the front. You're not a disco, people want to be able to watch you.
