  2. I don't know what the tube complements od the Ashdown but the 7027 tubes used in the V4B are very very expensive. up to a thousand bucks for a set of four from Fliptops. They mention the British KT88 are an alternative.
  3. I had another look at my Little Board, after my previous post here, and basically redid it entirely. I wasn't quite happy with the Harley Benton PowerPlant Tuner before I managed to damage it, and it wasn't quite right afterwards. So I got a better PSU with all-isolated outputs and tried again: Peterson StroboStomp Mini tuner - still the best tuner I've ever owned Orange KongPressor is back, because I had the space, and with a doubler cable it's getting 18V. Boss OC-5. I still have the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe, on my big board this time. The OC-5 is here because I'm experimenting with octave up for a pseudo 8-string tone, with some nice results so far. It's not a "hi-fi" octave up in isolation, but it blends well with direct tone. Mosky Silver Horse dual mode "Klone": the effect I want from it seems to change every time I use it, which is not the pedal's fault. It can give just a clean boost, a little more hair, or quite a bit of grind with the treble down to tame the fizz. JHS 3 Series Phaser: I had a problem with the switch last year that mysteriously fixed itself: if it goes again, I have a couple of dead pedals that can donate a switch. It's definitely a keeper for the sound quality. Ly-Rock "Simplifier" clone. I know, should have gotten the original DSM&H Simplifier, and I am considering the new Sub-Atomic pedal version. The cab sim is subtle but with some careful listening it does make a difference. The PSU is a mains-powered Harley Benton PowerPlant Junior, on sale at a very nice price. It has 5 isolated outputs, but you can see six pedals and the KongPressor is using two outputs for 18V. So I did have to use a splitter, which is not ideal. I got a little hum when using that with the Phaser, so the splitter now powers the tuner, the Klone and the preamp. There's still a very slight hum with the tuner in tuner/mute mode, but none in normal operation.
  4. Cryptic, but I think I understand what is expected of me. I await your further instructions.
  5. Purchased at the end of March this year, in mint condition, used a few times but just not for me. Comes complete with genuine Boss soft carry case and Boss power adapter. Will also chuck in the USB cable which you can use to connect to a PC. £200 plus postage from the I.O.W
  6. I would have to say accordion, on the basis that to my ears any accordion is too much so a lot of accordion is unspeakable.
  7. Haven't used my RM set up for a while. It's a 500 1x12 combo, for which I have a 1x12 extension cab. This week I took the combo out on its own and once again I was startled by how good it sounds. A little bit of the onboard grit and compression, not much else, and the onstage sound was splendid. I always regretted parting with my ABM which may be why I forget how good the RM is.
  8. I have this epifani 600 watt @4 ohm cab for sale ..long story short I had an issue with an amp which cooked the original speakers along with the tweeter ..I have replaced the drivers with celestians which were £150.00 for the pair and installed a new tweeter ..weight wise it’s 25kg ..its collection only from Wymondham Norfolk Nr189ju or I can meet within 40miles with some petrol money .

  9. My Sandberg's a factory plek'd and I like them a great deal. I have a bitsa with a Fender Mex Jazz neck that could do with a bit of a go over - not a surprise for a modestly priced part but I'm thinking of a plek this time rather than a human! Anyone had it? I'd be picking Charlie Chandler's place for the work as I've only ever heard good things from there. ta
  10. Whichever one I'm playing, apparently.
  11. Sold my Quad Cortex to Paul, prompt payment, speedy replies with info and an all around great dude! 5/5 Basschatter. Cheers again mate.
  12. No drummer beats a bad drummer every time, but why does anyone put up with a bad drummer? Play with a good drummer and your workload is halved. Play with a bad drummer and your workload increases 10 fold!!
  13. Both excellent pedals. Highly recommend for fans of the Boss OC-2 and Mutron envelope filter.
  14. Anyone had their mitts on one of these?
  15. Added a little sound sample video just recorded on an iphone
  16. Drums every time. For a while I was playing bluegrass, what a pleasure no drummers at all.
  17. Today
  18. Specs added.
  19. Fabulous looking bass. GLWTS.
  20. Being passive isn't the only factor - my Laklands are just more up my street, as I mentioned. It's still a lovely bass, but perhaps stands a better chance of being moved on unadulterated! 😉
  21. Hacked maybe? Nothing on TBG FB page?
  22. Up for sale is my NS Design CR5, in Amber. Bought from The Bass Centre just last year, and in near-new condition, apart from a small dink on the upper edge of the body shown in the photos. Light for a fiver at 4.2kg, and sits beautifully on the knee or a strap. Incredibly versatile magnetic / piezo pickup system with 2-band preamp. Specs are here: https://thinkns.com/instrument/the-ns-design-radius-bass-guitar/ns-design-radius-bass-guitar-cr/ Comes complete with gigbag. An amazing sounding and innovative design of bass, but I find myself reverting to my old Laklands, which just feel like home, so it's time to move it on. Collection preferred from near Woking in Surrey, but I can post within the UK at the buyer's cost and risk. Sorry, no trade offers please.
  23. If it not being active is the only deal breaker - have you considered installing a preamp ?
  24. Selling this drum kit on behalf of my brother who can’t play anymore due to ill health The kit can be broken up so if you spot something that catches you eye let me know and we can work out a decent price for you
  25. ^^^ this It’s a beautiful instrument and will bring immense joy to who ever owns it next. tbh, I’m not sure why it’s not had more interest, sunburst bodies aren’t to everyone’s liking I guess, nor are maple finger boards. I’d like it to have gone to someone in the BC community , but I guess I’ll have to speak to Bass Bro’s about a commissioned sale or summat.
