  1. Past hour
  2. Looks passable on the sliverburst…JUST
  3. shame about the neck because it's absolutely gorgeous, sure someone could sort it out though and might be worth it for that finish
  4. 100% this, and I have been for a while. You can filter out what you want, and if Facebook fights back at any time there is usually an update reasonably quickly to stamp out any of their nonsense.
  5. Sorry to hear about your brother. Remember to pass up no opportunity to laugh when you are together. And, if you haven’t already, tell him you love him.
  6. Got a message from my contact at the Tampereen Musiikki guitar store that they shipped my new Sandberg a couple of days ago, so now I will be furiously clicking the refresh button on the tracking page until it arrives (shipped from Finland to Norway, so I probably won't see it until at least the end of next week). 35" VM5 in Virgin White with a rosewood board. Not a superlight, but still only weighing in at 3.7kg (8.15 lbs). Should be a good one.
  7. Was flicking through Mick Rock's book 'Iggy & The Stooges- Raw Power' last night and was curious to find this pic of Ron Asheton with a Precision/Jazz hybrid. Most live pics of him in his bassist days show him using a Guild Jetstar but this must have been a neck and body thrown together from different instruments. I don't think Fender were in the hybrid game during 1972 but I could be wrong.
  8. Patches - Chairmen of the Board
  9. You just know a bunch of us are going to receive these once secret Santa gets going.
  10. Today
  11. Since I live on my own and have always done so since leaving home forty-odd years ago, I have often bought myself something 'significant' for the solstitial festivities. Back in 1982 it was Linn Sondek, which is still here sitting in the lounge.
  12. Damping absorbs midrange frequencies that will otherwise reflect back to the cone at various angles of phase, causing response peaks and valleys. The back is the critical place to apply it, but for best results all the surfaces should be covered. It may not make a major difference, but it's so inexpensive there's no reason to not do so.
  13. ok i briefly have the whole lot out of storage together so i took a quick pic! ...so rare to have them all in one room these days on account of the wife..
  14. Fixing A Hole - Beatles
  15. I have two Sabre Classic pickguards for sale. These are for the 2013-2016 reissues. Not sure whether they will fit a pre EB or 80's EB Sabre. Blue abalone, ordered from Armstrong guitars. I think this was on the cusp of them stopping using WD as there was a delay in getting it when they switched supplier Blue mirror is from Pickguards.com/WD Both have a bit of playwear but perfectly usable £35 the pair + postage

  16. Sounds great, but damn does that pickguard piss me off.
  17. Selecting a width displays the off the roll per metre price. Seemed pretty reasonable at 2.59 quid for the 54" wide.
  18. Grease Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters
  19. Yay!
  20. The £500 now includes shipping if theres any takers
  21. Yesterday
  22. The secret sauce of a Spector is the Haz preamp..... and that needs to be boosted to bring out the wonderful harmonic overtones....
  23. I only look at FB on a desktop browser using FB Purity.
  24. Actually it has a Neve preamp, rather than the Darkglass..... and sounds much better as a result.
  25. Bass Mekanik – Bass Mechanic
